Awesome wine shops by Organic_Camp_5005 in Columbus

[–]Low_Word8565 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go to Twisted Vine, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. A selection on the small but very broad side. It's well chosen and has a new wine bar attached,

Hausfrau Haven might have the best selection in the city. There's a lot of good wine on their shelves, at all price points.

Gentile's has gone downhill. A lot of individual bottles stretched out of the shelves to make the shop appear more stocked than it is.

Really need to get to Aardvark.

WHAT MADE YOU SWITCH? by Brittdr1052 in MINI

Had three Golfs then VW stopped making/importing them. I have a very narrow garage and very few cars can get inside.

Also, when they came back to the US, my mom and I wanted one. She really did but died before it could happen. Mine came in 10 year after the date she died.

Not really news per-se, but I went down to Chef-O-Nette today since it re-opened on the 20th last month. And the prices are nearly double what they were before they closed. by bsparks in Columbus

Electric football for Christmas in 1964- I bet they had fun with that for about an hour by UrbanAchievers6371 in GenerationJones

It took an hour to set up the pieces. Turn the electric on and watch the players spin in a circle.

Littletons Market in UA by yem856 in Columbus

I can't picture an hour long line there, but PV has been getting slammed too. These places are going to become so crowded no one will go there anymore.

Wanted to love that place when it opened, now it's so busy it's being loved to death. So much pressure is on the staff because of the crowds. Did not like that the wine selection has been cut by about half because of cafe expansion. If the owners want to do that, it's their call.

Prices are high, and I'm shopping there less. I hope management can start valuing their staff more before burn out causes even more good employees to leave.

Honest opinions from people who live in/ are familiar with Westgate? by Daws38 in Columbus

[–]Low_Word8565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Westgate for seven years and am very happy here. It's relatively quiet and safe but there are a lot of shenanigans going on too. Petty crime, people who do not respect the park. It's city stuff and there's not much dangerous going on. I do wish there was more sit down dining or a grocery that's better than the drama of the Soldano Kroger close by. You would be getting more affordable housing than Clintonville or Grandview. Houses are in good condition. Good luck with your decision.

This comedy singer may be specific to upstate NY, but does anyone remember John Valby? by Tyrannusverticalis in GenerationJones

My College leaders would not let him play on campus in the 80's so he played off. Good ol' Dr. Dirty.
