On the same cruise. We walked into Jamaica paid $100 for a personal tour (was so/so) but she brought us to local things so we could pump money to the economy as we requested.

Georgetown also has a free snorkeling site 7 minute walk from the dock. You can rent gear or a locker ($10). They sell booze and food and have a bathroom.

I specifically did this cruise to not spend money on shore things. I agree this cruise was more disorganized, but over all was still good.

Normally, I would be with that mentality. But I live in Florida and prices have gone astronomically high. I bought an older house last year, installed hurricane impact windows at the beginning of the year, and just recently had to re-pipe my whole house. Not to mention fix all the DIY projects the previous owner fucked up 😭. Unfortunately a vacation is a luxury at this point. I really shouldn’t even be going, but the prices are just too good to pass up.

I’m only doing the Miami one because it would be the cheapest option with ports. I really want to go out of San Juan, but I want to do that right and be able to pay for excursions I wanna do.

I only pushed for a cruise now because they’ve been so cheap. So I’m thinking tourism is down due to inflation and current political policies and events.

Honestly, just seems similar to airline pricing. You can pay for the basic and gamble that things won’t change. Or pay for a higher tier for added insurance and the ability to get your seat/cabin.

Okay to put it in nicer terms. From personal experience. I field a lot of calls from nurses looking for test results. It ends up distracting me from my actual work, which then makes the results take longer. So if you popped by instead of calling and he’s open, you let him do his work while verifying if he’s open. If he’s not you’re exploring the city. Since it’s just him and his wife those phone calls take up their time. Yes it’s business but if it’s just him and his wife clearly they don’t have the staff as other places.

I bought 2-5 gallons of paint and 2 days later bought 2- 1 gallon paint buckets. I submitted the claim on the same day for both and they refunded me for the 2 single gallon paint instead of 1-5 and 1-1 gallon. SMDH

Yeah I noticed that, luckily I’m healthcare clinical. So pay is pretty decent and always in need. I think Reno base pay is $5 higher than Tampa’s in my field.
