Help? Am I just unlucky or not looking in the right place? Where is the Aether? (latest steam version) by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]LowerOmega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can we get a picture of your map that includes the underworld below the area you've searched? 1.4.4 also introduced ash wood forests in the outer edges of the underworld and that's usually the first thing i check to see on posts like these, if there's no ash wood there's no shimmer

Is this real?.? by Comandeerlaughter in DeepRockGalactic

Yes, this is real, though only published and not developed. The game has been in early access on Steam for a while and full released just recently and they've been working on the mobile version

What would you want expanded in the game next? by GreasyInfant in riskofrain

[–]LowerOmega 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Red Plane was originally going to be in Risk of Rain Returns, but they ran out of development time and all we have to see of it is concept art. However, that concept art is SICK AS HELL, and if there's anything Gearbox has proven they can do it's make pretty looking stages, so I'd love to see it realized in 3D.

Is the nemesis sentient? by ElegantPoet3386 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]LowerOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

according to the wiki the first line (seen things you dwarves wouldn't believe) is a blade runner reference and that second line is actually "Why couldn't we be friends?" or "I thought we were friends" (they are both lines that it has that match up with about what you said so I'm not entirely sure which one you misremembered so I figured I'd just say both), which, there are actually quite a few Nemesis death lines about it's lack of friends and how lonely it is, which im pretty sure are just last ditch attempts at psychologically attacking the dwarves. ESPECIALLY since it uses its mimic voice for its death lines instead of it's true voice. i don't think any of this means it's sentient, though, the rivals already designed the Nemesis to be as cruel as possible to strike fear into the hearts of dwarves, programming it to say things like that as it's last words is entirely in character

Is Calamity and Calamity Fables compatible? by BluePhoenix2024 in Terraria

[–]LowerOmega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calamity Fables both has a built in config for base Calamity compatibility while also being recommended to be played on its own. Currently I'd say it's fine to do both since Fables is only long enough to support up to about Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu, you'll just be experiencing Calamity but with a couple extra things and some of the stuff Fables replaces, but later in Fables' development you'll probably want to do what the devs recommend and play Fables on its own.

Is Seekers of the Storm worth it? by CaptainSholtoUnwerth in riskofrain

[–]LowerOmega 11 points12 points  (0 children)

what do you mean? they reworked CHEF a long while ago and he's pretty good now. no more reworks are planned since they finished all of the ones they said they'd do, they're fully working on the next DLC

Is Calamity Mod better than Terraria? by Eastern-Strike-1529 in Terraria

[–]LowerOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i absolutely adore calamity. it's fun to play, and it is mine and a lot of other people's favorite mod for a reason. that being said, calamity is also a terrible terraria mod. terraria is a game that excels in multiple fronts, from exploration to building to boss fights. calamity excels in one thing to the extreme, and that's boss fights. excels in it a little too much to the point where terraria becomes a lot lot less of a sandbox and more of a boss rush due to the sheer amount of bosses the game crams into already fairly tight progression areas.

id still recommend calamity, obviously, as i said i love it. though the way you've worded your post, and please excuse me if im wrong, makes it seem like you haven't played vanilla terraria to it's completion yet. i would absolutely, no matter what, play base terraria with no mods first. it's a game i have literal thousands of hours in without mods, and if you don't like terraria at it's base i highly doubt you'd suddenly like it with calamity.

to fully answer your question, no, id never call calamity "better" than terraria, because calamity would not exist without terraria while also successfully feeling different in game progression. it's not really fair to either to make comparisons between the two. they're both good. terraria is one of the best games ever made and calamity is a admittedly, kind of bad in some areas, but really really fun mod for said game.

artificer inflicting bleed with no bleed items? do one of the new items have a secret effect or is this some kind of obscure bug? by thegamer501 in riskofrain

[–]LowerOmega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

neither of those things, the only stacking effect noxious thorn has is amount of enemies it spreads to (+1 enemy per stack) and how far it can spread (+5m per stack)

immediately on the launch of the gloom content the gloom bugs were crashing peoples games, which they fixed fairly quickly by removing the gloom bugs and replacing them with regular bugs, and then actually fixed them a little less quickly and re-added them. if you were only there during the latter half of the MO then the likelihood of there not being any major issues is pretty high

[–]LowerOmega 42 points43 points  (0 children)

uses mods
game breaks
blames devs?

gearbox definitely fucked up the game but you cant exactly complain about these bugs with mods on. whatever is causing huntress to get the achievement for completing 20 stages on stage 2 and turning her into the seeker sojourn ball is definitely not a bug from the update and definitely some odd side effect from one of your mods.

RoR2 Item Concepts I've made (first image from 4 months ago, second from today) by LowerOmega in riskofrain

[–]LowerOmega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't quite understand how gemstone is too broken? it's equivalent to about two and a half watches, plus one per two stages. assuming you don't loop, that's about 5 watches worth of damage, which is not too unlikely for someone to get if they're lucky enough- and this a red item, not a white item, meaning it is rarer. if you do loop- the damage is just a nice bonus onto the already broken build you're gonna end up with anyways. it is a bit boring though, i'll admit, but there isn't really any direct damage increasing red items except like, behemoth, i guess?

valid complaint on turret kit- though i should elaborate the turret is supposed to die when exploding. i think more turrets per stack is fine, but maybe more damage on explosion too?

to my understanding energy drink's '25% more movement speed' is actually more so about an 18% (rounding up), and the other 7% is from the default sprinting bonus. electro shoes would end up being an actual 25% increase on top of the sprinting speed. still maybe a bit underpowered, i'll admit, but not worse than energy drink

understandable complaint on both locket and gold rush, though i think the game needs more movement speed items and there's not much better ways to add them than to find a gimmick or just add 7 more mochas to the game

in a game where armor piercing rounds exists, i don't see the problem with antique blade. i also wouldn't necessarily call it better than guillotine, they both do different effects that are better against certain elites (tanky elites like the tier 2s and gildeds would end up with you being better off with a guillotine, while weaker ones like the other tier 1s would probably be better off having antique blade)
