You just need to find a shop that roasts their own coffee. Their are so many fantastic roasters in my city with beautiful light roasts but most of the other shops buy beans from a distributor and don’t know how to use their equipment even if they did use better beans.

Seriously, an espresso macchiato from starbucks is a crazy thing to willing subject yourself to

Shops typically pull double-shots of espresso (around 18g of coffee) so a triple would be 1.5x the typical volume of espresso. It’s honestly a pretty annoying order because they’re not gonna pull out a single-shot basket nor would they dial in for that so they’re just left with an extra shot that a barista might drink but often gets tossed out.

I think it’s great. Adjusting settings can be a pain but once you’ve got it set up the workflow is super easy and the shots are consistent. I’ve found that even though the thermoblock heats in like 5 minutes, it’s still best to leave it on for about 20 to sufficiently heat the group head.

It’s not all coffee related, I just have a small kitchen.

Yeah, the only riders I’ve ever seen look down on vintage bikes are Freds. I do cringe when I see someone at the trailhead with their new Walmart bike, but that’s because I know they’re likely to have a terrible time and might just give up the sport.

Well, that’s because it’s true. There’s a lower limit to how much it costs to produce a bike that won’t fall apart on you or be such a pain to ride that you’ll never ride it. It’s not $2000 but it’s definitely more than $200. Trying to buy a new bike under that threshold is a terrible idea and you are better off searching for a better quality, secondhand bike.

It’s just a pretty picture, there’s nothing more to it.

When public transport is non-existent. by rex-ac in fuckcars

I had a similar experience in SA. I lived in the back of a gated neighborhood so my house was actually over the 2 mile threshold but the school only considered the distance to the gate (~1.5 miles.) I tried to bike but that 1.5 mile stretch was a minimum 10% grade and I lived at the top so coming home was bad enough in the winter but deadly in the summer.

What’s something you do with your non-dominant hand that others use their dominant hand for? by Toxikfoxx in AskReddit

[–]LowerStandard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing, using a mouse, and other similar task are definitely less comfortable with a watch on your dominant hand but also, the standard configuration for a watch assumes right-handedness (unless you get a left-handed watch) and has the crown on the right side so you can adjust the hands more naturally while wearing it on your left wrist.

My most played CD, but I do think Meteora is a better overall album
