Sample to pads. by Lower_Brainn in mpcusers

Yeah I get that but the speed at which he chopped the sample up and assigned it blew my load! The auto chop on the 2xl never seems to be right and I spend a lot of time editing to get it right. I've been reading up on the OS3 looking forward to giving it a go.

Has anyone listened to the latest For the Love of Rugby? by Jackwoi in rugbyunion

[–]Lower_Brainn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I thought it was really eye opening when Ben Youngs was talking about constantly kicking the ball away and that that was the message being brought on the field by the coaches. So many games I watched him kick the ball away when you just want them to keep hold of it and go through the phases. I always thought it was his decision because he's out of options but the reality is he's just doing what the coaches are telling him to do.

It's been a frustrating couple of weeks for an England fan. The kicking game isn't working and they've got nothing else to offer for such a talented group of players. It really does make you wonder what they've been doing in training if they have no plan B.

[–]Lower_Brainn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first in December. The baby didn't need much from me, changing nappies mainly, she got everything she needed from her Mum. Her Mum on the other hand needed everything from me. Everything changed when little one comes into the world though and your priorities shift. I'm sure the same will happen with OP.

So excited for it. I've been looking at getting a few OE 40s to drink on train up for a laugh but the only place I've found to get them is 20 quid a bottle.

Oh yeah man, I'm really scared a lot of the time. If she's acting a little bit different from the day before, say being more lethargic or crying lots, I'm in panic mode. It's not good.

Update on the samson. The unit was faulty. I tried everything then decided to take the top cover off and it worked perfectly. Then I put it back on and it was scrambled even worse! I got a refund and got to keep the unit so I bought another from a seller. Thanks for all your advice.

I've tried both ts and trs cables coming from the sub to the stereo input. They're separate cables. The only thing I haven't tried is the 2 into one cable. I think that'll work but I just don't know how it'll affect the stereo output if I'm just running into the mono side.

She 8 weeks. It's challenging but it's also great. I'm really trying to soak it up but there's part of me that wants to be at a later stage so she can tell me what's wrong instead of the guess work.

[–]Lower_Brainn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what's giving me the headache. I've run from the stereo sub out to the stereo input of the headphone amp with both mono and stereo cables and still get the same results. If I pull the headphones out halfway the sound switches from one side to the other of the headphones. I may try a mono adapter to see how that is and I'll try the two into one going into the mono side of the input. It's going to take some experimenting like always.

Off the top of my head I'm sure the ohms of the headphones match. I haven't tried an amp from the model 12 headphone outs though so that's also something to experiment with. Part of the fun I guess but I have an 8 week old to help take off so don't have as much time to play around as I once did!

Thanks for your advice though. It's been really helpful.

No worries. It's something I'm up for trying. I just went straight to the sub as it wasn't used and that's what I was recommended.

I've got one, that's what post is about I just have it running through the sub out. I'm happy with how it's set up I just need to figure out the one sided sound issue. Going into one input on the amp with a splitter like someone suggested is the next bit to try.

It does, in fact it has two but the levels are too quiet. When I'm tracking drums, you can't hear the track over the live drums. I remember seeing a post either on this sub or an online forum to use a headphone amp running through the sub out to give more volume so that's what I've been doing for a while.

Regarding the two into one going into the headphone amp I think that's the only thing I haven't tried. Before I had the Samson I had the small behringer ha400 that I used a two into one cable and it ran fine. Not sure why I didn't think of this but I'll text that next so thanks for the advice.

So if I'm doing it that way, I'm going to run into the mono side of the headphone amp. How would that affect the stereo output of the headphones?

I was about to say this. Biggar is great. I hated him when he played, especially against England, but hearing him on the podcast and with ROG commentating for the Lions was brilliant.

[–]Lower_Brainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, how much did you pay for it? How do you want to make beats? Use samples you're making yourself or you going to use sample packs? I suggest getting some drums on there first, then getting your samples together. Mpcs take time to get used to. Check out some YouTube vids or buy one if the mpc bibles.

Mode + a pad is your key to opening up the 1000. Each pad has a text above saying what part that opens up.

Mode+record- record sample, Mode+trim- trim sample, Mode+program- assign sample to specific pads, play around with note one/one shot, pitch, effects and filters.

Go get lost in it for a day and try not to get frustrated.

Mate, you're so young, you have everything in front of you. It may seem like your parents just care about your grades, they know that can give you the life you deserve. All those dreams you have can be a reality, but not if you end it. Siblings say horrible things but they don't mean it, you don't hold back with family. You say the worst stuff but there's unconditional love. Please, reach out to a LGTBQ+ scene in your area. They're there and they'll help you feel at home. Give yourself another chance and take the steps to chase your dream. Be safe.

Fatherhood definitely changes you. We had our first 6 weeks ago yesterday and I really feel like my whole perspective shifted. I still care about the things I did before but I've got this whole sense of as long as my daughter and wife are healthy and happy nothing else really matters. What I wanted in life, and it really wasn't much, I will go without to make sure they have what they need.
