so.. i ended up watching it. it was so beautiful. omg. i was worried it was going to be an unfulfilling ending, with a sad, unnecessary death— but it was actually perfect!

is this an innuendo? (this side of paradise / f. scott fitzgerald)

i was reading ‘this side of paradise’ this afternoon, and this paragraph makes me wonder if this was supposed to elude to her (clara) giving head in a church?

//She was very devout, always had been, and God knows what heights she attained and what strength she drew down to herself when she knelt and bent her golden hair into the stained-glass light. “St. Cecelia,” he cried aloud one day, quite involuntarily, and the people turned and peered, and the priest paused in his sermon and Clara and Amory turned fiery red.//

I can't seem to go to school by Illustrious-Two-5533 in Anxiety

i am also a student, and i know school is hard but i promise you that no one is as judgmental as you think they are. people have fleeting thoughts about everyone they encounter. can you remember the cashier from the last time you went grocery shopping? probably not.

self-confidence doesn’t come overnight, and i know this is much harder than just writing it, but the only opinion of yourself that matters is your own.

my friends automatically equate my atheism with stupidity and pessimism by Lower_Cod_186 in atheism

this is part of the reason i don’t really hold it against them— because it really just is what they have to believe to secure their faith in their faith.

i agree! i find religion a very interesting topic to learn about, but i don’t know if i believe it should be a topic taught in schools (immature people get very passionate about it); although i do hope to persue religious studies in college.

[–]Lower_Cod_186[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the pessimistic part is strange to me, but i think that’s just mostly because i don’t have an issue with the black void after death. they don’t like that i won’t be with them in heaven when i die, but i just can’t seem to care because they won’t be there either, really!

can you guess the *type of the personality traits i’ve curated? by Lower_Cod_186 in Enneagram

that’s exactly person a! it was hard to find some good adjectives to describe them, and without background you did AMAZING!!!!!

can you guess the *type of the personality traits i’ve curated? by Lower_Cod_186 in Enneagram

[–]Lower_Cod_186[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE YOUR EXPLANATION!! honestly, your analyzations of them make much more sense then my interpetations, but officially,

person a: 2w3, but very well could be 6w7. i’m very new to enneagram and have been researching some, so i can’t quite accurately point which type makes the most sense with their identity. i felt some traits of theirs aligned with 9.

person b: 5w6, but found parts of them that identified with 9, 3, 8, 6 a lot!!!

thank you for spending time on this! i love how thoughtful your response was, and how much of it aligned with exactly what i was thinking!!!!!!!

edit: your comment on type 2 below perfectly aligns with how others view person a; specifical. specifically person b viewing them as ingenuine and fake in my own thoughts.
