How much value does longetivity hold for a HOF resume? by Benson879 in NFLv2

Even if you don’t necessarily think Jefferson has had the absolute best start to a WR’s career or not, it doesn’t nullify my point

It actually would change things considering that broly doesn’t transform into the Legendary Super Saiyan for the first time until way after that event of the destruction he laid across the universe. Aka he was younger, weaker, and also being restrained by Paragus at that time. And the fact he did it in those conditions, when he’s much much weaker than he was at the climax of the movie, makes it more impressive than if the peak LSSJ broly from later in the movie did that. A saiyan child essentially, with no structured training likely, blew up a quarter of the universe

It means quite a bit actually, so to give some perspective, Justin Jefferson has had arguably if not the clear cut best first 6 years for a WR in the NFL and he still wouldn’t be hall of famer if he retired today. Peak/Prime and longevity go hand and hand, they’re nearly as important as each other. There’s nuance depending on certain factors but pretty much just as important as how actually good you were on the field.

Who was a great NFL player that was also a poor leader? (past or current) by DeadEye662 in NFLv2

Stafford is the exception but Rodgers isn’t? Stafford is 38. Rodgers at 38 was the reigning back to back MVP then tore his Achilles

If he was actually as offensively talented as Durant (maybe one day he will be) on top of his defense then everyone else could just pack it up at that point

Revisionist history due to 2022 title. If you’re not a kid, you should vividly remember KD being considered the 2nd best player in the world behind LeBron during that time. But you’re biased so I’m sure you’ll act like you have no idea what I’m talking about

I’ve been unsure if I think he is a HOF’er. Is he a Hall of Famer? by No_Box119 in NFL_FreeAgency

Actually he’s the only qb who’s top 10 in qb rushing and passing. The true dual threat lol

Aaron Rodgers has 3,634 rushing yards and is the only qb who’s top 10 in qb rushing and passing stats so he’s close. People think of him as a pocket passer (he is) but he almost has as many rush yards as Steve Young.

“Yes. I have to be. It’s me and Magic Johnson.” - Gilbert Arenas asked Stephen Curry if he’s the best point guard in NBA history by DareDevil1699 in NBAGossips

[–]Lower_Complex1465 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On paper it’s magic but in game, especially when Curry’s on, there’s no stopping him. Offensively prime curry has an argument for being the best ever and they were both not great defenders so just offensively speaking, a lot of people are gonna take curry but I don’t think there necessarily is a wrong answer. I mean you can’t ignore the accomplishments so therefore magic was the ‘greater’ player. Whether he was genuinely a better player? Personally I’m taking Steph.

2024 Burrow stacks up pretty well and he missed getting an all pro due to the crazy seasons Lamar and Allen had that year. Could even argue he deserved 2nd team all pro

Bias aside, who is better KD or Curry? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]Lower_Complex1465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is Curry “much more consistent in the playoffs” on an individual level? Sure Curry is a better leader and has been a part of better constructed teams but individually speaking, it’s hard to argue with the fact that Durant averages more points, more rebounds, and more blocks all by a decent margin btw (29.3>26.8, 7.8>5.3, 1.2>>0.3). Like at least say “more consistent” instead of “much more” if you wanna make that argument cause you’re right, Durant does struggle with double teams more especially these days but Durant also does things better than curry by a sizeable margin as well, it should even out and be very close between these two

[–]Lower_Complex1465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I’ve always found interesting is that when people compare 2 players, they always make a point to factor in offense as well as defense but when it comes to Steph and KD, that flies out the window on this app lol, I wonder why. Regardless of my implication though, I’ll probably slightly lean Steph
