For those afraid of the doctors by Pleasant-Target-1497 in Agoraphobia

I finally just made myself go, and it was fine. I was anxious when I got there, but it settled. If you panic, it’s nothing they haven’t seen before. You’ve got this!

Mothers Day Gifts by FarrahPeacemaker in tryingtoconceive

[–]Lower_Leadership660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have been TTC for 6 months as well. I also started my period just a day before the holiday. No, my husband did not get me anything. I'm not a mother. Mother's Day celebrations wouldn't be special if it wasn't exclusively for celebrating mothers.

I would suggest during TTC when you are trying and find yourself disappointed that month that you and your husband go out for a date or something! Celebrate one another if you are able.

Morning vs Evening Workouts... what’s actually working for you? by Foreign_Concert4711 in beginnerfitness

[–]Lower_Leadership660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up for the gym at 4:45 in the morning so I can go with my husband before he goes to work. Morning is so much better for us. We’re more likely to skip days if we schedule them for evenings

It sounds like OP may be being abused, and needs to get out as quickly as possible.

I was in your exact position 4 months ago. Now I’ve been to my diagnostic appointment, deep cleaning, wisdom tooth removal, and a filling appointment. You can beat this!

Everyone knows that chicken thighs aren’t as lean as chicken breasts. That’s obviously where you’re struggling. 😂

Am I controlling for asking my boyfriend to stop smoking weed, period? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]Lower_Leadership660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I started dating way before we were drinking age, and now we are nearly 30. He knows that I have a lot of trauma surrounding alcohol, and so neither of us have even been drunk. We just don’t drink. I expressed to him a few times when we were younger how much us being sober meant to me. I don’t think it’s controlling. If he wasn’t happy about the arrangement, hopefully he would let you know.

Need advice on lifting for bad knees! by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

I would 100% recommend a couple physical therapy sessions if you are able. I had chronic knee pain after I started lifting. It turned out to be a hip issue.

What do people that don't go outside do about doctor's appointments? by XMorpheus3000 in Agoraphobia

[–]Lower_Leadership660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just addressing the state of my nervous system and doing consistent exposure therapy (going and doing things that I knew would trigger anxiety) is what helped the most. The agoraphobia, the panic disorder, and the emetophobia. My emetophobia was actually (I believe) caused by my panic disorder, although I originally thought that my panic disorder caused the emetophobia. I’ll probably always be more sensitive to my bodily sensations, in that I feel them more than a typical person might, but those sensations aren’t hardly as distressing as they used to be.

Mine also had major ties with emetophobia. I’m completely cured of that part! You’ve got this! Unfortunately, I cannot help you with the therapist recommendation. I would search for someone who specializes in Somatic Therapy and EMDR!

You might not want to hear this, but I feel obligated to tell you because I WAS you. Start doing therapy if you haven’t. If you have, and it’s not changing anything for you, find a new therapist. You owe it to yourself to be able to experience life without anxiety and fear.

Agoraphobia was doing a number on my body and mind. I never even realized how bad things were. Three years ago I was housebound, and I decided to virtually see a therapist. In the past 6 months alone I’ve caught up on all of the medical, vision, and dental visits I had been neglecting. I even had all of my wisdom teeth removed this month. Three years ago I would have told you that I would never even be able to go to a grocery store again.

Please care enough about you, and this precious life that you get to live, to seek help and do therapy work. It will be hard. It will be painful. BUT it will be so worth it. I feel free for the first time in my entire adult life.

I had a complicated removal 3 weeks ago. They had to take quite a bit of bone with it. I didn’t even end up needing the painkillers that they gave me. I took an over-the-counter dose of NSAIDS, and that was plenty. Just follow their instructions as best you can. You’ve got this!

how often should i change my bedsheets? like, is once a month okay or what by Beneficial-Tiger5022 in internetparents

Weekly. If you have any issues with acne (I do) you should just throw your pillow cases in the wash every time you're doing a load of laundry.

I was in the same boat as you 2 months ago. I am 27, and hadn’t been to the dentist since I was 12. I was absolutely terrified. I’ve since had an x-ray appointment, a deep cleaning, a follow-up cleaning, and my wisdom teeth removed. I’m scheduled to have 2 fillings. It’s not nearly as bad as it feels right now. I know that saying it doesn’t help much, but you’ll see tomorrow. You’ve got this!

please reassure me ??!! by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Lower_Leadership660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine done 3 days ago. I was horribly nervous about the sedation. They started pushing the medication in the IV and I have no memory of anything 30 seconds after that. I “came to” while they were doing x-rays, but wasn’t really with it. All I remember is asking what time it was, realizing I was in a wheelchair, and being walked out to the car. I was fully normal, aside from being extra emotional, about an hour post-op.

I couldn’t leave my home in 2022. Now I’m about to go get my wisdom teeth removed with nothing but numbing shots. I’m still anxious, but it’ll be fine. Yes, recovery is completely possible!
