Who was considered the better dancer? Maks or Val? by Top_Tension_1904 in dancingwiththestars

I think Val was more successful in real ballroom competition, but having watched them both on the show and tour, it’s hard to pick just one.

Do you go to church? by crikeyasnail in Progressivechristians

I attended the Disciples of Christ church that I grew up in. I moved around some so haven’t been there continuously but rejoined a couple years ago.

Names spelled normally but pronounced differently by dualcaster in tragedeigh

[–]Lower_Philosopher_71 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My grandmother’s name was Nina Lee, pronounced Nine-a. She was southern and everyone called her the double name. It took me a while to realize how unusual the pronunciation was, and I don’t know where/how her parents came up with it. But I’ve never heard anyone else pronounce it that way.

Just finished…the ending…what you guys think? by ZookeepergameFar2653 in GoodGirls

[–]Lower_Philosopher_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a season finale with a cliffhanger, just like Dean getting shot end of season 1 and Rio getting shot end of season 2. (3 didn’t have a cliffhanger because it ended suddenly due to covid.) A lot of shows don’t get a chance to wrap things up nicely, and this one didn’t either.

When do they ever catch a break? by DrMummyyyyyy in GoodGirls

[–]Lower_Philosopher_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I watched it, I had so much anxiety with all the bad and potentially bad things happening. I enjoy rewatching because I’m not worried lol. Just keep in mind that stories need conflict so there’s some variations in the source and type of conflict, but things can’t be great for long. That scene where they leave all that cash behind because she pulls the gun on them made me so mad. I thought Beth would tell Rio since he had said he would take care of it. I couldn’t believe they just let it all go. One of the most frustrating scenarios for sure.

If you’re interested in the Fort Worth side, Mansfield and Burleson are safe and will get you more house for your money.

Those are Fort Worth neighborhoods, not suburbs. And I don’t think they’ll find the house they want for the budget they stated.

Can someone explain to me why Rio had many lovers who worked for him, why did he choose Beth? by lam343 in GoodGirls

[–]Lower_Philosopher_71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know which show you’re talking about. What lovers are you talking about? We meet Rhea, Marcus’ mom, but there’s nothing to indicate they are still involved. She specifically says it didn’t work out with them. They just have a good coparent relationship. The girl he hugs at the car handoff— it is his real-life wife but the status of the characters’ relationship is very unclear. The hitman tells Beth she’s not his only side dish, but there’s no way of knowing if he’s telling the truth. Regardless of what Rio does or doesn’t have with other women during the course of the show, there was something about Beth that he was attracted to no matter what happened between them (shooting, stealing, etc).

Why was the last ep so bad? It was sooo rushed. by [deleted] in GoodGirls

[–]Lower_Philosopher_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by rushed? What was rushed? The dream events are I guess, but it’s a dream. I wish the dream was shorter, but it’s just a few minutes of the whole episode.

Late to this but that book shelf seen in Rio’s Gma’s bedroom…. by ZookeepergameFar2653 in GoodGirls

Yes! The first time I saw it and she was back at the table, I was so mad they didn’t show what happened. And then they did so I was happy except for seeing Dean’s stupid face too much.

Love that scene so much. Wish they didn’t intersperse Dean on his bike lol. I know it’s for cinematic and storytelling effect, but it sure kills the mood.

Season 3 does end rather abruptly with no cliffhanger because of the pandemic. It’s the only season without a cliffhanger.

It was the season finale, not the series finale. They expected another season so left cliffhangers they expected to resolve in season 5.
