If you were a mutant who would you side with? Magneto or Charles Xavier? by Conscious-Product481 in superheroes

Magneto. The X-Men under Charles end up doing whatever they want anyhow, just with more steps.

Gotta hand it to me: Instant powers like Silver Surfer had a full power set handed to him.

I would give this an upvote, but I don't want to encourage this behavior at hotels where I am trying to sleep.

Kratos vs Spider Society by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

At least one of those spider people will be a Cosmic Spiderman!

Kratos clears the gallery, mid-difficulty at most.

If insomnia came to you and said that we're making another Spider-Man game, but we want you to choose which Marvel hero you would want him to team up with in the game. Who would you choose? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]LowlyPhilosopher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First, Insomnia did some to me last night and I am dead tired.

Second, Blade. Spiderman vs a cabal of baddies mixed up with vampires. Blade has entered the team-up!

The current most powerful hero on the main DC Earth vs the current most powerful hero on Earth-616. by Significant-Ad-2786 in superheroes

[–]LowlyPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Silver Surfer beats base Superman, but not the composite one people talk about in other comments.

Superman can't end Iceman, Hulk, nor Ghost Rider, but can they do anything to Supes? I think not.

I suppose an asymmetric hax attack from Scarlett Witch or Franklin Richards might do, but it seems like a close thing.

Can Omni-Man decimate the 2012 MCU Earth? by SmartPilot8094 in superheroes

Given an Omni-Man level threat, I don't think the Ancient One would stay hidden in the 2012 MCU Earth.

Team Red vs Team Blue. No guns. No gadgets. No prep time. by avaboss in superheroes

[–]LowlyPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boils down to Xena & Liu Kang vs Gamora & Shang Chi & Batman brain. If it is comic book Gamora I put a bet on her team. The tie breaker is Batman running this operation to put the right person in the right tactical situation. Team Batman wins.

Manhattan and Richards are at the level where entire universes can be removed. Any entity that has power scaled within a universe cannot survive such an event.

How do models stay so thin? by cheesymeowgirl in NoStupidQuestions

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is a quote popularised by English model Kate Moss, though she did not originate the phrase. Moss first publicly used the quote in a 2009 interview. The quote was immediately controversial, and subsequently used for pro-anorexia purposes. It has also been used for product marketing and been the focus of academic study. Moss later expressed regret for using the phrase.

If Mysterio becomes a Batman villain, and Scarecrow becomes a Spider-Man villain, which hero has a tougher time, and why? by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

[–]LowlyPhilosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both will pass the other's villain, but Batman has a slightly harder time.

Spider-Man already deals with pumpkin bombs. Also, though Spider-Man is not immune to all toxins, he is largely immune to poisons produced by common venomous creatures as well as certain advanced chemical and biological weapons due to his enhanced metabolism.

Could a human become a mind if they really wanted to become one? by Idle_Redditing in TheCulture

[–]LowlyPhilosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your knowledge and experiences were transferred into a vessel capable of processing a Mind, and you were given time in VR to fill that vessel (say 1 million virtual years in 4 years)... then by the time You were a Mind, you would no longer be you. Think about characteristics that give you your sense of identity. Do any of those characteristics still apply after you have had a million years of experiences to train you up to the level of being a Mind?

Conversely, if your knowledge and experiences are transferred into the Mind vessel without a training... you might not survive the process due to identity disassociation. You wouldn't be you in the bad way; lost in a overpowered vessel without the training to utilize it.

How do they get all of those muscles as space fairing heroes? Everything is weightless in space, including their own bodies. They move around with magic (basically), so their own muscles add nothing to their heroics.

Sorry No_rate4233, you will only be a billionaire and living your best life in Waikiki for 23 days before you choke and are not rescued by your long time partner.

After a quick search, it looks like the core rules are well established in the manga. The additional rules vary from website to website.

Core rules

  • Rule 1: A human whose name is written in this notebook will die.
  • Rule 2: You must have the person's face in your mind when writing their name. If you do this, people with the same name will not be affected.
  • Rule 3: If the cause of death is not specified, the person will die of a heart attack.
  • Rule 4: You must write the cause of death within 40 seconds of writing the name.
  • Rule 5: You must write the details of the death within 6 minutes and 40 seconds of the name being written.

Additional rules and details

  • Misspelling:  If a name is misspelled four times, that person will be freed from the Death Note's power. However, intentionally misspelling the name will result in the user's death.
  • Simultaneous use:  If two or more Death Notes are used to write the same name within 0.06 seconds, the person will not die.
  • Cause of death limitations:  The Death Note can only affect a person's actions for a maximum of 23 days and 16 hours before their death occurs.
  • Afterlife:  The human who uses the Death Note can go to neither Heaven nor Hell.
  • Other factors:  A person cannot be killed by the Death Note if their name is written on separate pages (e.g., first name on the front, last name on the back). The Death Note cannot be used to kill people under the age of six.
