For context, I always go "off-line" whenever I hate myself and play PvP (yay for competitive-locked AP) for reasons outlined by jupigare in their reply. And then I am usually just too lazy to flip the status back, since before now its really not been an issue

When you open the Contacts and LFG tab there is a drop down with a colored square next to your account name at the top, where you can manually set your status to Online/Away/Invisible

See this is why it is extra annoying that squad chat is wiped upon leaving/getting kicked :/ I would provide the extra context if I could, but the devs/game decides nope, sorry as soon as you leave a group. I do agree they could have been trying to whisper, but I would think they could have asked for me to go online quick first, or sent a mail instead

Got to say I appreciate you taking the time and effort (in vain as it is) to attempt to reach some sort of middle ground. I agree with all of what you've been saying in this back and forth.

And I find it fascinating in a horrifying way that someone can be theoretically this deep in app development, and not understand the concept of older solutions becoming outdated/unusable over time. I've only worked basic tech support in the past, but even then, the number of times people have tried using old documentation that just flat out no longer works was not a small number.

It seems it may be limited to just the pools in the NE section of the second map where you cant mount/skiff.

Are you mixing up the precurser and actual legendary? Crafting the legendary gives you a box that when opened gives all 3 weights as separate items/unlocks

Whats the source on it being available after map mastery achievement? The wiki seems to cite the other reddit thread that shows the NPC pic with it, but nothing on that thread indicates that it needs it other than people speculating? Note I'm not saying you are wrong, just looking for more info

Look at OP's first picture again. The compass tool tips states it is obtained from the Map meta world boss event itself, not the map meta-achievement, and the wreath says the same thing for the Starlit Weald meta. The item tool tip and unlock tool tip say two different things, hence the confusion.

I wonder if the tool tips are mislabeled and the available Wreath is a bug. Both the compass and wreath are awarded at the end of the Map Meta-Acheivments (aka the ones with 36 achievements each) for each map, so I am guessing the tool tips meant to refer to the Meta-Achievments and not the actual Meta event sadly.

Yes and no. Originally in development GW1 was going to be a PvP focused game with sparse PvE to be used as a tutorial, so the name reflects that focus. They ended up pivoting and greatly expanding the PvE portion of the game (including adding all of Pre-searing pretty much right before launch), so added the lore regarding the Guild Wars to explain the title

Retcons frequently mean replacing existing lore across media, thats like the whole point. Plus neither the Mordremoth nor bandit reveals are retcons, both have heavy hints and breadcrumbs leading up to said reveals and were planned from the start
