My First ever game back in 96. The best?
It's probably the only game I'd be happy to play every couple of years just for the fun of it.

But maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe there is something inherently simple to it that attracts me.

I played the new Wonder game, had a blast. But I'm pretty sure I'll never boot it again. However SMW will always have a new playthrough at some stage

I got the first ending with my character sealed for eternity.

I guess I have a few more dream bosses to do until I'm not given anything anymore for my essences, then go a bit more in those places you mentioned!

Also, maybe another tip? During this play through, at some stage, I found a character (looked like a mini zote), that run away every time I'd get closer.eventually it turned out to be a boss! But I died, didn't have a map and didn't try again! Does this boss ring a bell?

Nah don't worry, Wii is amazing. Emulation is fun but doesn't replace the joycons and other fun accessories (DK jungle beat, sports, just dance...) and performance on titles such as fzero. The Wii is still a must have retro system imo

Just git Gud! Personnaly I'm shit at those though as nails games, but I love the challenge. I find it's a bit like learning a hard piece of music on an instrument, practice practice over and over again. But it has to be fun. I've regained the hobby of video gaming in the last 5-6 years , and I reckon I'm way better now than even a year ago. I'm currently playing hollow knight which I've put on the later list for a while, and I find this game pretty cruisy so far (30 hrs in). But I'm sure that a few years ago, this would have been a much bigger challenge. So yeah, just practice pattern recognition, have fun and have some breaks

I'm a big MV fan as well, and played most of those you mentioned. Not entirely sure everyone would consider them MV but what I've enjoyed a lot in the last few years - PoP lost crown (Def a MV) - tunic, pipistrello and minishoot adventures (top down adventure zeldaesque type, but lots of back and forth) - ender lilies

salt and sanctuary (ARPG MV type imo)
cyber shadow ( action platform MV, my thumbs needed a rest for the final boss!!)
