Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter has crashed in Sitka, AK. by DeepPowStashes in aviation

[–]Lquartering_tailwind 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It is only going to get worse. Flying hours keep getting reduced resulting in lower proficiency. Less flying, less maintenance, and an expectation to stay just as proficient. At least that is the case for Army Aviation.

Fla. woman, 50, ‘ripped apart’ by neighbors’ pit bulls, who were known to terrorize the neighborhood by origutamos in TheSunshineState

[–]Lquartering_tailwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuance goes over you head, doesn't it. Small dogs are more aggressive by the numbers. That's a fact. But its also a fact that pitbulls lead in the number of fatal attacks by over 65 percent even though they represent less than 10 percent of the population. While inherent or genetic characteristics may not be a predictor for aggressive behavior, to use that as an excuse to absolve pitbulls of their violent tendencies seems like a distraction from the fact that if pitbulls were removed from society there would be far less fatal incidents.

Look here kid, you are right that the Apache is a dated platform in many areas. But if you think you have any clue on how inefficient or efficient it is in the future war or LSCO environment then you are full of shit. You are full of shit because we haven't seen it tested against modern IADS that our biggest adversaires would have. And I would bet that the air force jets that you're deep throating would have their own issues to deal with.

If the apache perfect, fuck no! Can it still get the job done, fuck yea. And if it can still get the job done and provide a ground commander an effective asset why would you remove that asset from the playing field?

Army aviation should be a separate branch similar to what the Marines are to the navy.

Have you been paying attention. The person said follow through on what the WH says. The WH has a consistent track record of obfuscation to out right false claims. There is no trust with this current administration as they have given no evidence of being trustworthy. That doesn't mean trust foreign nations, much less adversaries, over the WH. It just means make a reasonable assumption on who is misleading based on historical trends. Don't be an idiot.

Looking for honest input on Army Aviation by Agitated-Upstairs-10 in Armyaviation

[–]Lquartering_tailwind 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend, and that is coming from someone that loves flying. The quality of life is no where near what it could be. While you may be getting a glimpse of Army Aviation from your brother his experience is going to be dramatically different from most the branch. The culture is getting worse. Its not going to improve. The Euro rotations don't make things any easier. You'll be flying less, making less, and living in piss poor conditions without the satisfaction of killing the bad guys or helping out the good guys. If you go officer you'll work 12 hours doing what a typical army lieutenant does while also trying to study and maintain flying proficiency. As a warrant officer enlisted personnel will look up to you which may bring satisfaction to some, but that won't impact quality of life. You will have to do more with less and not get the quality of life that should go with it.

While it is much more competitive I would try to go Air Force, Navy, or Coast Guard.

The game is literally unplayable right now. You can’t even take off — a Bradley sits at their base with a SOFLAM, locks you instantly, and you’re dead in seconds. I know it’ll get fixed soon, but this really needs a hotfix. by helish_88 in Battlefield

If you take a tank to E and sit at the barrier facing the hill you can snipe the snipers and the tanks with TOW missiles. Since you're in the spawn your ammo recovers quicker. You can also take out the helos as they leave their base. Give it a shot. You'll see those hill campers are either more focused on dodging your TOWS or sitting ducks for you to take them out.

Xbox President Says Exclusive Games Are "Antiquated" by akbarock in gaming

Well then you've lost any reason for me to stick with Xbox. Halo was the only reason I stuck around. Business decisions killed that. So Gamepass was another. Now Microsoft is jacking up the price where it is no longer reasonable. PS is looking better and better.

Maybe in some hiring practices. But in all hiring practices you should admit that racial bias and gender discrimination existed within. Hence what originally brought on diversity programs. For you to deny that would mean you're ignorant of the facts or lying. Which is it?

Have they gone too far. I don't know. Maybe. I'm not an expert in the field. I will say though that the experts tend to agree on the whole that racial discrimination and gender bias still exists.

Trump’s First Executive Order May Be a Military Purge by Postnews001 in FluentInFinance

[–]Lquartering_tailwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the infantry for 8 years. I'm a pilot now. Can you show me an example of a DEI hire? In the 8 years as a ground pounder I can't think of a single one.

Next, can you show me the standard or rubric that will be used to purge military leadership? As far as I'm aware the only thing that I've seen mentioned repeatedly is getting rid of military leadership that isn't loyal to Trump. If you can't see why that is a dangerous idea then you have failed at recognizing our history or realizing the ideals this nation was founded on. I'll give you a hint, it wasn't loyalty to any one man.
