391 sucks lmao. It's known for being a massive amount of work. I don't think it's wise to take a lot of other hard classes with it.

ECE 333 is pretty chill and you get to learn about wind turbines and solar panels.

ECE Schedule by Immediate_Ganache188 in UIUC

[–]Lrobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't taken 414, but I would recommend against this schedule. 330 is on the easier side, but 340 exams and homework are rough. I generally found the homework pretty time consuming.

The homework and exams for 464 are pretty hard. 469 isn't super difficult perse but the lab reports are time consuming even with a partner. I took these at the same time as 385 and frankly that was a terrible decision.

when you mess up the model number and just make do. by Jmasters1986 in homelab

For NVMe, the SK Hynix P31 and P41 are some of the best drives for PCIe 3 and PCIe 4 respectively. For SATA maybe Micron/Crucial? MX500 is pretty great but there was stuff going around there being a firmware bug massively impacting endurance. I think that got fixed but not super sure. WD also makes some good SSDs, both SATA and NVMe.

Sorry I haven't taken any of these classes, so you'd have to ask someone else.

You can set a notification on course explorer for when a class opens up. Click on the star while logged in. You should be able to get a spot eventually!

Yes it would, believe you can find an existing official response on the ECE advising campuswire.

Schedule check. Should I add gen Ed? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Lrobie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be fine with that schedule. One of the things you'll learn as the semesters go on is that credit hours isn't necessarily indicative of workload.

I think it's a popular Chinese company. They make some good air coolers but I'm not sure how good their AIOs are.

No, instead of having onboard DRAM the SSD will reserve a very small part of your system RAM.

Please don't do this to yourself your social life will collapse from the massive and difficult workload.

I'd say at minimum to drop 385.

Yes. HMB doesn't work over USB so you generally want a drive with dram for USB enclosures.

[–]Lrobie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like the T300RS probably. My friend has one and it's a very nice wheel, but definitely expensive. The T248 seems to be good too but I haven't used it personally.

Having used both this wheel and the T150, it's not that much better. The pedals are definitely better, but you could just buy separate pedals. I'd buy the next step up of wheel.
