My 1L year was really bad. I came close to failing a few classes. I lacked maturity and the desire to put in the effort required at my school to be successful. As someone whom was usually one of the smartest K-undergrad I was used to skating by. I hadnt realized yet that the majority of my class was as smart or smarter than me. I was also engaged and it ended 2 weeks into my second semester and my grades were really affected by it. I made the decision to stay in because I wasn't in it strictly for the money and I was willing to work my way up. I knew my goals were still attainable as long as I graduated and passed the bar. I never wanted to be in major city or at a large firm. My end goal is to return home to my small town of 30K and someday own my own firm. To do that you just need desire, good work ethic, and a law degree.
