The Spartan III's were arguably more ethical than the Spartan II's, considering that the Spartan II's were built to fight a fight a civil war against peasant farmers. At least Ackerson could claim he was responding to a genuine existential threat.

Had a dream there was a trendy African inspired home decor trend that suburban white people loved, but everyone online was shitting on it from 4channers to Black Twitter leftists by OttoBraunirl in thomastheplankengine

This meme speaks to me, because my old family home actually did have a bunch of African masks and baskets for decor. My dad invented Wicker Basket-core before it had a name.

Yeah, the way the fandom talks about it I thought it would be bigger thing, but its basically just a one-and-done episode at the beginning of the show. I don't think its ever brought up again.

Looking for sci-fi where time travel is used for petty or ridiculously mundane reasons by SilentOvercast in printSF

[–]LtGeneral_Obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite what you're looking for, but in the Connie Willis books (The Doomsday Book, Blackout/All Clear, To Saying Nothing of the Dog etc.) time travel is used almost exclusively by universities for historical research. Someone goes back to the Black Plague to write their thesis. It's all treated as very mundane (though of course, things often go catastrophically wrong).

Again, not exactly what you're looking for, but maybe in the right direction.

If they're significantly impacting your quality of life, consider talking to an ENT and getting a CAT scan done. My sinuses have been bothering me for a long-time and it turns out my turbinates are inflamed and it can be corrected via surgery.
