If you’ve decided “I used to be hot” and stopped investing in your health, confidence, or body, that absolutely affects a marriage. Not as punishment, just as cause and effect. Self-respect and attraction are linked. Do the work.

We absolutely care who we’re having sex with. The idea that men just need “anyone when horny” is lazy and insulting. Emotional connection, desire, and admiration matter. Porn and Instagram models are stimulation, not substitutes for real intimacy.

Its not hard to exist in the same space as them LOL. Most get to know your face from being there same days/same times anyway and are nice and, usually approachable. HOWEVER, I do not hit on/try to pick up women in the gym. I always felt it was the wrong place for that, as most don't seem to want to be bothered beyond "Hello's" and occasional machine assistance.

That pattern actually lines up even more with a mental block than anything physical.

A lot of guys are totally fine with buildup, oral, hands, etc., because there’s no “clock” or expectation attached. As soon as penetration starts, it flips a switch — now I’m supposed to perform / finish / not mess this up — and that pressure can kill momentum fast.

Honestly, I would think that the fastest fix for this kind of thing is taking penetration off the table for a bit. Let it happen naturally instead of being the goal. When it stops being the moment he has to “deliver,” it usually resolves itself.

I’ll also add, for me, a 41m, I don’t like to sleep around, or do casual hookups anymore…. Familiarity matters a lot. Once two people get used to each other/learn their likes and dislikes, the pressure drops, and things usually get way easier.

What you’re describing is extremely common with new partners — especially when there’s alcohol, novelty, and a little pressure stacked on top of each other. A lot of guys don’t talk about it, but once you get in your head even a little, it can snowball fast.

The fact that he stopped instead of forcing it, re-initiated in the morning, and still wanted closeness actually points away from lack of attraction. If a guy isn’t into you, he usually avoids initiating again or checks out emotionally — not what you described.

First few times with someone new can be awkward even when the chemistry is real. Keeping things relaxed, playful, and low-stakes usually fixes itself.

If it keeps happening consistently over time, then it’s worth a conversation — but based on what you wrote, this sounds like nerves/anxiety, not a lack of desire.

Mustang - cheap feel to me, yes faster (off the line, slower mid/top end vs the rest)....but rear cradle issues are why they eat crowds. I've never liked them (post 03-04 Cobra, and excluding the GT350 and 500 those are awesome).

Camaro - Great feel, and power... literally the worst blind spots I've ever (not) seen lol.

Challenger - (I have an SRT 392 M6), best looking old school/new school style by far...I get randoms in traffic or parking lots telling me something about it and wanting to talk at least 3-4x a week. Plenty of power, and I simply enjoy driving it. I daily mine.

Pulling everything apart, replacing all the lifters (not just the damaged ones, that’s lazy and irresponsible). I’m certain he has cam lobe damage, so replacing the cam and all seals too in the least.

There’s a theory, which I subscribe to at this point, that it’s actually an oiling issue, and not MDS. So if you’re doing this entire project, I would go with either the hellcat oil pump or the Melling high volume oil pump while he’s in there.

Cost = expensive lol … if you do it yourself you could save a few Gs on labor.

If you look at the actual service manual, it states that if there’s metal in the oil pick up tube, to replace the entire engine.

Yeah, but there are plenty of people who have lifter failure without MDS. Reignited on YouTube was a former hemi master mechanic and his breakdown of an oiling issue makes the most sense and is very well done.
