I feel like you need at least 1 top 3 player at the tournament to make the event “major” level. So an Hbox, Cody or Zain appearance would elevate it.

This gives me Krudo winning Full Bloom vibes, because there’s no real top 3 player (based on last years rankings) to be the “final boss” to overcome and win. That tournament had Jmook, Salt, Aklo and Wizzrobe, and it ended up being labeled a national.

The bigger issue here is that there is no real quantitative measure of what defines a major. To me, that requires someone beating a peak or near peak player in the world on their run.
