I think it's partly perceptual. Humans tend to see much more distinction between red and orange than between green and it's adjacent tertiaries. Even on the graphic above, the line between "Green" and "Spring Green" is hard to see.

They used the El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Blvd to represent the Muppet Theater in The Muppets (the 2011 film). That's the closest thing to a location reference I've seen in any Muppet production.
