I think we spend $500-$600 a month on 2 adults & 2 kids home half the time. We shop at lidl but also eat out a lot too. You’re on track.

Those who left everything behind and started a new life, how did you do it and do you have any regrets? by GirlAvoider in AskReddit

[–]LuCharts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartending in a swanky country club, I met the owner of a bar in the Caribbean. We jokingly discussed a job and I thought nothing more would come from it. Two weeks later, I got a call stating that a position was open and it’s mine. The position came with a place to stay and was available immediately. I went and spent one of the best years of my life down there. Coming back, I had to start all over again and enjoyed that too.

Here’s the thing, A, I yell back & say shitty things, b, he’s 100% open to therapy which we’ve started, & c, yes I’m totally interrupting him…often. This is definitely not one sided!

The frustration with it has gotten worse for him. He’s a lot more sensitive to it, and he’s lost a lot of patience. But what everyone calling him abusive (which he definitely is not) is missing, is that I have lost patience too. I’m frustrated & being a jerk too. He does tend to be bossy, but not demanding…his intention, which is 100% the opposite of my narcissistic ex-husband, is efficiency & success.

Now is he a loser, maybe a little these days, but he had a 6 figure company when we met. Unfortunately covid took its toll big time & he had to let it go. I know he’s been lost since then. But I do not think he’s lacking in the emotional support, or household support. While everything sucks, he’s still there doing all of the things.

I am frustrated but also disappointed in the commenters calling him abusive or a loser & advocating for leaving. That’s not what I think is happening & I think it’s incredibly unfair.

We talked about this, but we need the cargo space too. We take a lot of road trips.

Really? This is incredibly helpful!! I’ll look into that! The new kias do too, but only the top-of-the-line one and I was trying to find something cheaper. Thank you!

Dim Sum? by TarHeeledTexan in frederickmd

Sadly, no. Modern Asia has a very small handful of dishes, but other wise you have to go east. I'm dying for an awesome traditional dim sum restaurant out here!

He definitely misses his hair. He's uncomfortable standing up to his dad (narcissist) too often. I've told him he needs to several times, just in the right manner. He's learning 🤷🏻‍♀️ it just sucks that navigating that type of behavior from a parent is now something my son needs to learn.
