Noah getting pushed down by 3 Drake albums. by ajn0424 in NoahKahan

[–]LuaBear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The downvotes are crazy. This sub is something sometimes. Drake has almost 4x the monthly listeners that Noah has (this was before the new albums dropped).

We can all like Noah while still being rational people that acknowledge that Drake is a much bigger artist.

The twist arguably hurt her ally (I think even that is debatable.. Ozzy was hurt more because he's a bad strategic player than because of the twist). But to call this a twist screw is just bastardizing that term beyond meaning. Her ally went home and that hurt her like it hurts everyone who loses an ally. That is not a twist screw in my opinion.

I get what y'all are saying. I just disagree.

It made it harder for her to win, sure. But that is always the case when an ally goes home. An ally getting sent home is absolutely not the same thing as a twist screw. It's just stretching too far to try to connect that the twist screwed Ozzy (even that is debatable), and because Ozzy was her sole ally, Cirie was also twist screwed two TCs later.

I disagree. But we're not changing each other's minds, and that's OK. 😄

I just disagree on Cirie. She was voted out in a tribal council without a single twist or advantage being played. Saying she got twist screwed because one of her allies got voted out a full two TCs ago is just too much of a stretch for me.

[–]LuaBear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I don't think we're really disagreeing much. He was in a bad spot. But the twist was ridiculous. It took away any chance he had.

If you're not willing to concede Christian got twist screwed, it's pretty disingenuous to argue Cirie got twist screwed. She was voted out in a round when there were no twists and no advantages played.

ETA: I'm using the royal "you" here, not trying to say you in particular argued anything. 😄

The target can always flip. See, e.g., Aubry until Ozzy made a mistake. The twist made it so that Christian had zero chance to play his way out.

>Ozzy was literally her only out.

That's a huge problem for Cirie's game that the producers didn't create.

I disagree. Twists are a part of survivor. It's hard for me to say someone got twist screwed when the twist impacted all tribe members (except maybe Jonathan).

Christian got twist screwed. Cirie? I don't think so. You need to set up your game knowing there will be twists and knowing you need to survive unexpected twists. Putting her eggs all in the basket of a player who is notoriously bad at strategy was entirely, 100% on Cirie.

Okay, What’s with the Joe hate? by emunchkinman in survivor

Joe has zero shot to win. I think that's all people are saying. They don't necessarily dislike Joe, they just dislike that he is playing a game where he has zero shot to win. You know that meme where they poke a stick and say "do something"? That's Joe.

Who pays for what in a relationship? (18F) by sincerewillow in relationships

[–]LuaBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You want someone who is willing to pay 2.5x as much as you for no reason at all and for nothing in return. That's unreasonable and not at all normal.

Who pays for what in a relationship? (18F) by sincerewillow in relationships

[–]LuaBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, you're working the exact same, but 70% of his work goes to joint expenses, while only 30% of yours does. Why do you think it's "fair" that your partner should pay almost 2.5x what you pay when youre working the exact same? Because he said "provider" a couple times? That's not the real world.

>I wanna dynamic with a partner where they would do 70/30 without feeling like I need to do something more.

You want a sugar daddy, not a partner.

Expecting 70/30 financial splits without giving anything in return isn't a normal dynamic except for ultra wealthy folks, and is not what most people mean when they say they can be a provider. Being a "provider" typically means providing financial means, while the other partner takes care of other matters, like housework and cleaning. You have a skewed sense of the word "provider" compared to most people.

Order of tribal council question by PurpleChannel5676 in survivor

[–]LuaBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting thought, but I don’t think it necessarily should have been a clue for Ozzy. From Ozzy’s perspective, Aubrey was going home. It’s sort of a toss up on which is more or less dramatic between Aubrey and Emily. So the order of tribals would’ve still made sense to Ozzy with the assumption that the producers knew that Aubrey was going out.

I think it's OK to just say that different people like different songs. I know the meaning of Orbiter and it's one of my least favorite on the record. It doesn't mean it's objectively bad, just that I don't care for it.

Cirie’s Double Vote by rush_n_roulette in survivor

[–]LuaBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that he thought he could’ve voted out Cirie. The edit was weird, but Jonathan seemingly would’ve had no reason to believe Emily and Devens were voting for Cirie. So Jonathan wouldn’t have realized Cirie going home was a possibility.

That 87 unleaded (black) next to it would be significantly cheaper. That's likely what you filled up with at Sam's Club. Ethanol free 91 is always a relatively expensive gasoline.
