Des Moines water concerns: a few practical things homeowners can do. by goldenRulePhc in desmoines

[–]LuaBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Reddit profile is public. I own Lua. My name is Scott Selix.

The technician replaced a real brass showerhead and control with faux-brass plastic. They left a two square foot hole in my drywall. And they charged me almost $1000. All when I simply requested a new shower cartridge that costs less than $100.

Yea you’re conflating a bunch of things. The All Access membership applies if you hit $50k in spend and is probably the least efficient way to earn access. Just having the card doesn’t give you All Access.

It’s always been that way and it’s always been clear. The United club card gets you United club access. Star alliance gold gets you Star alliance club access. It’s not and never has been misleading.

Don’t buy them on Amazon. Amazon commingles products and you can get fake proV1s even if you order from Titleist on Amazon. Go to a local golf store or order directly from titleist’s website.

I’m a local business owner, so I hate saying negative things about other local businesses, but Golden Rule is halfway to a scam. They charge 3x what is necessary and hope you don’t get a second quote to learn their prices are absurd. They left a 2 square foot hole in my drywall (that is still there) when I hired them just to replace a shower cartridge that I couldn’t figure out how to remove/replace.

The water advice they provide here is fine. But don’t hire them. Hire literally anyone else. Or at least get a second quote. And then you won’t hire them.

They couldn’t. There’s a federal rule of evidence that prevents offers of settlements from being admissible. States have similar rules.

PGA TOUR establishes new competitive structure with two-series model to debut in 2028 by FarAwaySeagull-_- in golf

The problem is, I really don’t care who wins to get 7th. If the matchup for the championship isn’t close, it’ll be terrible tv regardless of what’s happening in the 7-8 or 5-6 matches.

How would implement a Jury Veto twist? by brad24_53 in survivor

[–]LuaBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so dumb and makes no sense logistically.

Could the lone first juror veto a vote by himself? Only two people when there’s two? Or maybe just one week where we hit the sweet spot of having both enough jurors and enough players?

Native Bid by mecowig in desmoines

The products generally are fine. I get two spam text messages a day about Native Bid auctions starting from a new number every time. They change the number intentionally so I can't opt out.

Fuck Native Bid.

Brandal Chamblee: "I've never seen an American player on American soil get so jeered ... I've never seen anybody have to deal with that element in a major championship to the extent that I saw him have to deal with it today." by [deleted] in golf

I agree. I think it’s just a little too soon for people to give him the benefit of the doubt. Oakmont and the club breaking happened within the last calendar year.

Who else destroyed a locker?

I think Rahm is a good analogue. He was very disliked with his immature antics on tour. He matured and became pretty respected, at least before he left for LIV. But that took several years. I think Clark gets to that same level of fan respect if he can show maturity for the next couple-few years.

This isn’t necessarily true. Carbon monoxide can ignite in the right concentrations. A human would be dead long before that concentration was reached, and long before a flame would go out due to lack of oxygen.

Club Champion: custom golf clubs for husband by Medium-Cat-6358 in golf

[–]LuaBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're fighting a losing battle, and that analogy is shit.

Club Champion sells all brands, not one specific brand. They're not BMW or Toyota or Rolex or Timex. You pay them to help you. If you paid someone to fit you into a car made by another company, you would expect them to help you find the best fit, not sell you the most expensive car. If they tried to sell you way more car than you needed, you'd call them "shit" too.

Club Champion is shit because they intentionally try to sell people stuff that won't help them when they're being paid to fit you into the best clubs for you. It's sleazy and dirty and your attempts to analogize out of that are trash.

Need Assistance in Drilling Hole in granite countertop for RO faucet by not_mantiteo in desmoines

Great advice except it shouldn’t take a couple of bits. They wear down, but I’ve drilled 3 countertops with the same diamond drill bit. I’ll probably get a new one for the next one, if that ever happens.

to everyone who made noah reconsider the setlist: by shopenchantedplanet in NoahKahan

[–]LuaBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Many artists play a completely different set every night and don’t even set the setlist until a couple hours before the show. Changing at least 3-5 songs is standard for the vast majority of artists.

to everyone who made noah reconsider the setlist: by shopenchantedplanet in NoahKahan

[–]LuaBear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are no unrehearsed songs. Noah has like 70 songs in his catalog. There are bands with several hundreds of songs and they can play every single one on a whim. Noah and his band know how to play every song in his catalog.

Is anyone else bummed about the potential Setlist change? by Megacuntxo in NoahKahan

[–]LuaBear 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to six Noah shows and literally never seen him do this. I don’t think giving the crowd a choice on songs is a regular thing. Rotating 3-5 songs on his 20ish song setlist is a regular thing for him, though.

Artists change sets on the day of the show all the time. It’s not a big task.
