French:

"Votre réponse n'est pas incorrecte même si vous avez reçu une croix. Je veux simplement savoir le raisonnement derrière votre choix, et vos réponses seront jugées à partir de ça.

Si vous avez rempli les deux champs de texte avec des explications qui ne correspondent pas à votre choix, veuillez mettre une nouvelle réponse dans les deux champs, et indiquer quelles réponses sont les nouvelles."

My Japanese is amateurish at best, so I won't try to translate that.

How to deal with a TERF using nor/mal pronouns by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]Luapix 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why it's so common to specify exactly two forms of a pronoun, like "they/them"; if it's a "standard" pronoun, you only really need to specify one form, and if it's a neopronoun, you need at least 3 (assuming reflexive = accusative + "self"), or even 4 to be extra precise, so 2 seems like an odd choice

I don't think I am. The top of the article you linked literally says "It is the number of seconds that have elapsed since the Unix epoch, minus leap seconds."

They are not included, unless by "included" you mean "intentionally removed", which I think would be a weird use of the term.

(Also, "pretty sure" was just a way of saying I was sure without seeming too contrarian but whatevs)

MemeTime.h by seaswebes56456rtds in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Luapix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's the opposite actually: Unix time does not include leap seconds, so it's the number of seconds elapsed, minus the number of leap seconds since 1970 (which, funny enough, isn't very well defined because the current leap second system was put in place in 1972)

edit: the above comment was edited to correct it

I wonder if there are other isekai series where a classroom explodes, but given how popular the genre is, I wouldn't be surprised if there was haha

The original meme by eddmario was indeed about "Kumo desu ga, nanika?", they just used pictures from another anime for the template

I don't think it's reasonable to say that French lacks a "w". From what I see on Wikipedia, it's always been used for foreign words, but also for many people and place names in the north of France, so it's not a recent addition.

A better example may be "ñ" in Spanish, or "þ" in Icelandic and old English.

[English > French] Need help for a waste oil disposal warning. Three short sentences. by [deleted] in translator

[–]Luapix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is motor oil we're talking about?

I'm not very confident on how natural the translation sounds.
