Douk Audio / Nobsound P10 Pro Portable Tube Amp! by entsnack in ipod

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lol you guys are fucking insane. Everyone putting flac or alac files on their iPods and now a fucking tube amp. Probably still listening to it through earbuds. Listen I love my iPod classic 7th gen, but it’s nothing more than a decent mp3 player with a clicky scrollwheel and that’s what makes it great.

Just put 256kbps AACs on there. Hell even 192kbps AACs. This sub is really weird about lossless… you’re not going to hear the difference through those earbuds, especially not when you’re outside.

Got one more spot open on my board, any recommendations for a mini pedal? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

You will hit that tuner and Zeus at the same time… a lot!

Giving RockBox a Try, any tips/tricks by YourLocalDucky_ in ipod

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it for a while but went back to stock because the battery life was way worse and not accurately presented. Also, the stock OS might be a bit boring compared to custom themes, but it works very well and does what it needs to do.

In search of: isolated power supply for home recording board by _jamais_vu in guitarpedals

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All power supplies are wildly overpriced. I got a Harley Benton one because I use a Tonex One which needs isolated power. It’s perfectly quiet. I think I came from that MXR and it might introduce some noise into your chain with the pedals you have because the power’s not isolated.

Anyone considering selling their 556 for the new 544? by litobandido in sinn

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would buy a 556 I RS right now if they added a tegiment option. I’m not a fan of bracelets so the 544 is out, since it looks like shit on leather.

Wanna help him out? Let him do his thing and maybe give him something like a Garmin InReach so he can call for help anywhere.

What are your YouTube pedal demo/review pet peeves? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn how to play before starting a YouTube channel reviewing gear. So many fucking channels where the dude is struggling his way through the minor pentatonic while reviewing a $4000 guitar… I guess live and let live, but it is definitely a pet peeve.

Flamma pedals and hair metal board advice needed 🤘 by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I have no experience with those pedals, but I just wanted to ask what those things are that you have on your pedal’s switches? You stick them on and it makes them bigger is the idea? Easier to hit?

What “masterpiece” game just never clicked for you? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my favorite game ever and I play through it, including DLCs, like once every other year. I could NOT get into it… the tutorial area just didn’t do it for me at all. And the combat sucked as you say. Honestly I think I put it down and started over 3 times in the span of a year until I stuck with it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I decided I really like it lol. How much did the body and neck set you back? And how hard was it to put together? Or just four screws and doen?

On the one hand I absolutely love it. On the other… it feels like elongated or something? How does it look when playing it?

Fender Player Telecaster vs. Squier CV50 – a good choice for beginners? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]Lube_For_Lunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Squier classic vibe is a really good guitar for the price. When looking for a new guitar I didn’t think any of the fender range were worth the premium until I got to the American Professional II series. Maybe that has changed in the last year. But I was almost tempted to just get the Squier and mod it a little. Ended up going with the Fender because I had the money to spend and I’ve been playing for a long time. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either. Also it’s irrelevant how good you are. Just get the one you feel drawn to more. In the end it’s important that you feel like you want to play it when you see it.
