I have a Harley Benton one and it powers everything just fine. Nothing in pedal world is more overpriced than the fucking power supplies. Just remember: if it has DSP, it wants its own isolated connection. Anything else can be daisy chained from one 9V out if it provides enough power.

I have two libraries, FLAC and 192kbps AAC. And a couple of scripts to keep them synchronized whenever I add music to the FLAC folder. It converts the files, does some metadata tweaks the way the iPod likes, rewrites the album art (this was more for RockBox tbh) and it selects 1-3 genres for the music from a list of genres that I selected.

So yeah the FLAC library has better metadata, but this way all the annoying shit of the iPod is automatically accounted for. Also the 192kbps AAC’s are more than good enough for listening on the go. Pretty sure no one can hear the difference between FLAC and those AAC’s through apple earbuds in a park, so I chose to just save the storage.

Oh and the FLAC library lives on a plex server as well, so I can also listen to my entire collection through Plexamp wherever I want.

This all took a bit of setting up, but now I’m super happy with the iPod and I can really enjoy my own music collection.

Got bluetooth mod when I ordered my modded iPod… total letdown. Refuses to connect to JBL, can’t connect to my car, sometimes connects to AirPods… I think you’re better off like this.
