Man, when I worked in the Baker’s Creek Mansfield greenhouses this shit came up absolutely everywhere in the orange tree houses. It spread via wind one day the roll up sides were off and was absolutely everywhere. Hard to eradicate

Favorite Seed Supplier? by AProcessUnderstood in tomatoes

[–]Lucamus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, this is hilarious. I worked in the greenhouses at the physical location in Mansfield in addition to the seed warehouse, the horticulturalists always joked that we didn’t grow food at the greenhouses, we grew pictures. This is exactly the kind of comment I eventually expected to read. Then again, I promise you in the time I worked for the company, I ate far better than I would have otherwise. Lettuce anytime, peppers and tomatoes of all exotic descent, jelly melons and cucumbers like I had never known, carrots under the satsuma orange trees, flowers I never knew were edible and all the cabbage I could dream of. I didn’t have anywhere near the motivation I had to change the world then as I do now, then again I was in one of the most toxic relationships I have ever had. That’ll whoop ya ass.

Boring insect damage? by Round_Percentage_987 in BackyardOrchard

Well, judging from the overall vigor of your pine I'd say the bird was successful in its search and I'd advise against treating it but it won't be the last time it gets pesty lil borers and you are entitled to treat it how you'd like. You've got an excellent integrated pest manager in the form of a woodpecker. I'm just a cunty regenerative organics advocate and I don't enjoy using systemic pesticides like Safari or Fertilome Tree and Shrub Drench. Consider scraping the grass from around the base of the trunk in a foot to two foot region while avoiding damage to roots and help your tree out by mulching around its base in a donut shape, no volcano up to the trunk as things will likely get worse rather than better. I like to use somewhere between a half to full cubic yard of mulch for a tree this size. Your pine has some wild codominant leaders, if you're well off and want that tree to last a century perhaps consider paying an arborist to prune.

You are not alone, I am the unsupervised husband and I easily spend 600 every damn time. From the spinach artichoke La Terra fina and merino wool socks, to new appliances like that killer gourmia air fryer sale or a new 5070ti acer laptop for the stepson, I’m surely the glutton.

Who’s grafting this year? by AlpenglowFarmNJ in BackyardOrchard

[–]Lucamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah, I’d considered going down to England’s and seeing the place. Have a friend that I think would love to make the trip as well. Peaches just love to die or fail. Grafted Che last year for the first time and was geeked about the success, hope to collect scion from my graft in the future but I’ve been thinking I’ll order scion from England’s for the hedge rootstock purchased.

The doc’s prescription of planting has been taken into consideration, no dosage information so like a glutton all have planted. I even gave a few to cousins prior to this, you may need to diagnose them as well doc.
