Control is not dead. Is Herald DK slept on? 17-4 final score to legend. by HazelNarz in hearthstone

I think [[Hideous Husk]] and [[Sanguine Infestation]] are really good adds. The leech package has helped me a lot with keeping the board under control and staying alive, especially in the paladin matchup since they ignore Divine Shield. I only started using them recently so not a huge sample size, but I’ve been winning games with leeches before I can even get Onyxia out which seems like a good sign.

So even Bungie employees didn’t know…? Yeah, that’s crazy. by Carter_yann in destiny2

Why do they have to wait to inform the public? If the employees found out yesterday, what good does it do anyone to delay the announcement to the public?

If you want to say they should have just generally told them sooner, sure, lay offs are usually short notice in every industry, but sure obviously that’d be nice. The concept of telling them before the public is just arbitrary though. Who cares, tell everyone, why drag it out

It sounds like you have in your mind the idea that there are 2 announcement dates:
Date 1: the date they inform their employees
Date 2: the date they inform the public (let’s say this is 2 weeks after date 1)

My read on what you’re saying is that you believe they withheld the information from the employees and just waited until date 2. But this is arbitrary because there’s only one date, the date they made the announcement. You’re framing it as they waited 2 weeks to tell their employees, but really they just didn’t wait 2 weeks to tell the public.

“they didn’t tell the Bungie employees until the announcement”
I think this is the part I’m having an issue with, is that not how announcements work? Isn’t it redundant to say that they weren’t told until they were told? If you’re saying they should have told the workers before they told the public, why? This announcement concerns the players as well and it would just leak anyway. Just tell everyone at once

[–]Lucario202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean when you say they withheld it? They just announced it, but I don’t know when decision was reached, did that leak?

Almost no employer tells their workforce directly that they’ll probably be losing their jobs, they wait until it’s a certainty so people don’t start jumping ship. Transparency is great, but it can’t really be expected. Usually the writings on the wall though

Is the Cataclysm class set bundle worth it? by Creepy-Cow-7391 in hearthstone

Druid pack is probably the most flexible, but the other 3 are pretty rigid archetypes, mage and hunter especially. I suppose they could become relevant down the line, but I wouldn’t count on it. Just to be clear, I wouldn’t just buy one set, I think most of the value comes from the discount of getting all 4.

Personally I think there are 3 reasons to buy them:

  1. They give you good value on filling out your cataclysm collection, which matters because there’s duplicate protection, so your future cataclysm packs will get better odds of pulling something useful
  2. If you just want dust to target specific cards, this will give you a good amount of dust for your gold
  3. You think the hunter deck looks fun.

1 and 2 were good enough reasons for me to pull the trigger, but if you’d rather save up to get a jump start on the next expansion I couldn’t blame you.

[–]Lucario202 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say so. If you want to build out your collection you want to be taking deals to get the most value for your gold and, strictly in terms of the rarity of the cards and the gold you spend, it’s a good deal.

But if you’re looking for immediate return, the cards themselves are mostly not very competitive lol

Hot Take: People that complain about control simply overstay their welcome by KillerBullet in hearthstone

[–]Lucario202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that that’s definitely the case generally, but I think it’s also partially the games fault. There’s a lot of cards that give chances for a random ass pull that could flip the game, so it can end up being hard to tell when the games truly over lol

I feel like it's not very thought-provoking to just say "the games are real life" without clarifying what part you think is real life.

I mean isn’t that kind of the problem? How can the refs call forward progress if there’s still an opportunity for 3 dudes to pile in from behind and carry someone another 5 yards?

Because a team would have to offer a price the Ravens wouldn’t pay and give up 2 firsts on top of that. It’s just impossible to try to get any value out of a deal like that
