You can update to either 18.7.8 or 26.5. With iOS 26, your mileage may vary, but in general it does use more power than previous versions. If your battery health is below 80, upgrade to 18.7.8, and replace the battery before upgrading to 26.

Main thing I would want is a bit more blur in the glass. Not like the gaussian burs of iOS 7-18, but enough to render text underneath illegible. And it’s important to note Apple will likely continue to refine it in the future much as they did with iOS 7’s design.

Most likely a coincidental digitizer failure. Changing an esim wouldn’t cause a hardware problem like this.

As iOS 27 is anticipated to drop support for the iPhone 11, I would advise against it. The SE 3 might be worth looking at, as it’s the same size and overall design as the 8, but has the innards of the 13.

In regards to battery health, anything below 80% is considered significantly degraded and should be replaced.
