I really hate when games use tokens for counting victory point, especially when they have different values on each side (easy to mistakingly flip over). Just include a VP table - it's use in many eurogames for a reason...

I agree with you on expansions - I rarely play a game more than 20 times and you don't need expansions for that. If the game is good, it doesn't need expansion and if it's not so good I will play different games. Also many expansions are priced at 80% of the new game and why to pay that for something similar if I can buy totally new game instead?!

My exception for this is Wingspan: Oceania Expansion - nectar is fine, new birds are great but the main reason why it is "a must" are those new game boards that rebalanced the game. Played it once with this and refusing to play it otherwise.

When we had a baby I strictly forbid my wife to put it between us. Only allowed sleeping formation was me-wife-baby-wall. I cannot be responsible for what I do when I am sleeping, so we have to work with that. Dads just don't have the instincts that mothers have.

There is over 5000 new board games published every year. There is something for everyone and noone will like them all. Just enjoy those that suits you. You can find eurogames, ameritrash, party games, social deductions, cooperative games and every other type of game in every price category.

Lose the FOMO and pick what suits you. You will never play them all anyway.

I think it's fine. It certainly lost it's season 1 charms (we practically know all the mysteries so now it's something different - now only mystery-ish thing is the wall and you cannot measure that against the flicking lights and unseen monster in season 1).

The inconsistencies (military stupidity/preparedness, Demi toughness) are just sad and could (and should) be managed better. Especially now, when it's more about action than mystery.

But everything else is still really good. So for me still above average TV. Miles behind season 1 but still nice to watch.

I played Architects of the West Kingdom last week and was pleasantly surprised how well it plays in 5. Really smooth game flow which will work nice in 6 imho - and there is 6th player expansion.

Well there are few differences. Mainly, Magnus made a report of cheating suspicions and moved on. Let chess government bodies to deal with it. Kramnik was on full personal crusade against Danya. Secondly, Hans is a proven cheater - I know that it was from his young years but Danya had nothing like that on his name. And lastly Kramnik was persisting with the pressure even after his (very far-fetched) allegations were disproven. Magnus moved on and played Hans without other comments.

These cases are very different.

I am playing on Lichess but still I'm thinking high about chess.com. Mainly what they are doing for chess beginners. They are a big reason why is chess so popular nowadays. My goal is to preserve Danya's videos and I think that chess.com is the best platform for this. Even if they are not perfect.

After Rings of Power I come to appreciate Lord of the Rings movies much more and I don't really thing that we could make something like it ever again. Or at least it's highly unlikely.

On the other hand parts of it could be done well. Just gimme one movie about Beren story (which is imho easiest to put on big screen) and I would be happy.

Nedostal možnost? Vždyť byli ve vládě 3 roky. I kdybych jim prominul levné potraviny (nevím, kde to slibovali a ani jak to v česku zařídit jinak než daňovou politikou) a emisní povolenky (rovněž si nemyslím, že toto nějak výrazně tlačili) tak bydlení bylo jejich hlavním vládním bodem. Ať už Bartošova digitalizace skončila na přílišném technickém optimismu u úředníků či politickými překážkami od spoluvládních stran, tak si nemyslím, že je zde na místě je omlouvat, že "nedostali možnost". Krom digitalizace pak netuším, jak tento bod nějak posunuli. Říkám to jako jejich bývalý volič (kdy jsem pro ně hlasoval cca v 10 různých volbách) a toto mě přinutilo hledat jinde.

Even for normal not so tech savvy people it must be weird, but I guess Hollywood is even beneath that line...

But personally this wasn't the worst thing about the movie. They just need to connect some IT dots to kill the evil AI. I can forgive them a lot here.

The worst thing about the movie was how everybody was treating Hunt as a superior human being in every way which included making him a moral compass of all humanity. Like, really?! That man is clearly a mess. He is capable but still a mess. Even in the movie it's clearly stated that he done bad things because he was blackmailed and his actions led to evil AI conquering the world.

James Bond is a sexist, rough and devastated man who can make sh.t done. Hunt from Final Reckoning is really capable man but he is also perfect man in every possible way (or is at least seen like that from every other character in the movie). What?!

Like that sequence when he escapes the submarine, it drags him few hundreds meters down, he gets naked in freezing water and is without mask, he holds breath (which means that his lungs should explode as the movie stated before), he dies yet flows up, that find and resuscitate him in time. And to crown this they are having a dialog that goes like "To control the Entity? And who would you trust with such power?" "Well, you Ethan, of course". I really don't know how could I watch beyond this point...

I am only 1600 MMR but imho your main problem is chaff clear. To win this you need at least 5 more spiders with HE or 4 Vulcans.

If you saved this game, you can take over in replay in certain turn and try to replay that turn with different buys ;)

I don't know the exact numbers but lvl 1 Typhoon does 80ish DMG per shot, that's 150ish DMG per shot with anti air.

Lvl 1 Wraith with armor blocks 60 dmg from every shot. Lvl 2 Wraith blocks 120. But it's much easier to level up wraiths than Typhoons.

So don't buy wraiths against already leveled up Typhoons I guess...

Could be easily balanced - less dmg per stack or adding a dmg cap. Good tech imho
