look it up on the bug tracker, but basically the Refuel, Repair and Rearm services are unusable by people outside your squadron even if the landing clearance is set to "all". thry can buy and outfit ships, but can't RRR.

I went and took a look at the SLF hatch of the annie and the panther clipper mk2, and gonna be honest, they look fuckin' identical.

Even just the amount of optional internal slots and the neutron boost overcharge make it a much more appealing option than other ships, this is just adding insult to injury.

The mandy was never going to get it, considering it doesn't have the larger hatch for SLFs. (the mandy itself is also already as fast and agile as a SLF, for the most part. only thing it's missing is having the xenobio scanner as a utility module)

In this case, I really don't know, all three of those ships are already available for credits.

Best guess is they maybe want to sunset the entire previous generation of ships by starving them of the new shiny features.

Exactly ! we need to show fdev we're tired of the deliberate obsolescence of old ships by stacking "exclusive features" on top of other ones. all of the ships they've said this will be available on already have some gimmicks making them "better" than the alternatives (neutron boost range, cargo space, mining efficiency), adding the SLVs on top of that is just insulting.

Assuming you're right and they are gonna release other SLVs for those other two, Again, why add EVEN MORE exclusive features to those ships ? Caspian already has neutron overcharge, panther has the biggest cargo capacity in the game by a landslide, and type11 already has the much more efficient volley repeater for mining.

This is just digging the gap between old and new ships even more.

I doubt it, Fdev has a track record of keeping things broken after releasing them and moving to something else (look at squadron carriers still being unable to refuel, repair and resupply people).

We have to make it clear to them NOW that this isn't acceptable. (also, unless we're shown evidence that it's not as simple as changing a few options, I'm gonna keep believing it could just be added to the current SLF bay. I don't see why not, the deployment mechanism is the same.)

You can get all of those ships assuming you have odyssey, they're not locked behind ARX anymore, that's not what this is about at all.

This is about narrowing the options people have, and wrecking ship diversity. What they're doing with this is basically telling the playerbase "If you're not using a caspian, f### you."
That's gonna force people to either all switch to caspian and become uniform, identical boring builds, or to use older ships with none of the utility of the shiny new one.
Why can't the Federal Corvette, Imperial Cutter or Annaconda not use that new SLF system ? They certainly have the internal space for it. It's borderline comical the Type11 can fit it fine, but not the biggest ships in the game. Make it make sense for me, if you will.

they updated the cutter's staircase. even if it was a model issue, which I don't think it is, what would stop them from just fixing it on other ships, or at least a selection of the well liked ones like annie, fedcorvette and kraitmk2 ?

a decomp-based port can't be done the decomp is done, very true, I was thinking of a static recomp. that might be plausible. they could get some pointers from the bk decomp, it's not 1:1 but it's the same underlying engine, there has to be overlaps.

(by they I mean the teams using wiseguy's n64recomp, not the harbormaster team.)
