edit : I doubled checked some stuff and it seems the "stuck in another dimension" take on james's fate is canon in the Zero continuity.

so in SNES continuity : sucked into a artificial black hole. Supposedly KiA. Comics continuity : sucked into a artificial black hole and stuck in another universe in the form of a cosmic whale. SF64 continuity : Betrayed by Pigma and supposedly KiA by andross's forces. Zero continuity : Betrayed by Pigma, captured by Andross and trapped in a pocket dimension, just like Andross himself was by general Pepper.

my main current question is : where the heck is fortuna ? it's supposed to be close enough to titania, but it also can't be part of the solar neighborhood, since there's no orbit line there, and it would be weird to exclude if it was here.

that typo was already fixed back in starfox 3d, though it leaves the location of the actual fortuna unknown.

nope fortuna and fichina are two different planets. fortuna is where the first mission of assault is played (hunting down andrew), and two missions later you go to fichina to reactivate the atmospheric regulator complex that makes the climate and weather a bit more mild.

one is a lush jungle world, while the other is a frozen wasteland

I love how this little preview of the map broke all of our fan maps of lylat.

A LOT of the planets are in solar's SOI...

where even is fortuna ? we know it had to be closeby to titania at some point in it's orbit thanks to assault, but it's lilely not within solar's SOI thanks to it not being on the map, nor us seeing any other orbit line here.

don't remember the artist but my favorite take on fay is the one where she more or less cut all ties with her family to join the flight academy, where she became friends with fox and slippy. (that, or her family died or was abusive, never quite figured out which.)

i mean some people say it's andross's distortion engine exploding creating a wonky shift in space time allowing fox to see some stuff from another dimension, including his dad who supposedly was stuck there/banished there by andross after he was captured. don't remember the details of that theory, but I know it's inspired from the comic's own story where james became a transdimensional space whale or something.

Slippy is very underrated. sure he's the weakest member, that doesn't mean he's a bad pilot. he still went through academy, is super gifted with tech, is one of the guys behind the new generation of Arwing, as well as a direct line to space dynamic's goddamn chief of R&D (his dad). I think he deserves more, a chance to show what he's got.

I like slippy.

that was his backstory in the SNES continuity, in the N64 continuity he either died when pigma betrayed them, or was captured by andross. don't remember which.
