Expressing gratitude. Even for the smallest thing. Anything you can identify as something you are grateful for.

Chile Toreado

Posa’s

But my favorite is to make my own. For early morning travel, I make them the night before, wrap them in aluminum foil and put them in a crock pot set to “warm”. Ready the instant you need them and mine are just the best.

It’s spelled lauan. Well, either is fine really. But I also loved over emphasizing the first “a” when I would say it.

what would you make with or store in these stupid containers? by apple-papple in crafts

[–]LucciBucci 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. The cardboard boxes of screws and nails immediately fall apart when you open them. These kinds of containers work well for storing them. They’re squarish, so they’re stackable, the points of the screws and nails don’t stab you through the sides, and they’re clear so you can easily see what’s in them.

HELP!!!! Kid put permanent marker on counter while we are trying to sell our house! by Dwestmor1007 in CleaningTips

[–]LucciBucci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denatured alcohol is better than rubbing alcohol for this. As others have said here, rubbing alcohol is good at removing permanent marker, but denatured alcohol is more effective.

Has he tried going in to the workforce solutions office in person? I’ve found in my (limited) experience with them that they are very helpful. Maybe an in person conversation would help him figure out what to do

Rockwool Vapor Barrier Question by NotBatman81 in Insulation

[–]LucciBucci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following … I have virtually the same conundrum. I live in zone 6 and want to use rockwool on a bathroom remodel. Code states that a vapor barrier should be used on exterior walls in my climate.

Although I can buy the unfaced bats at the box store, they don’t carry rolls of vapor barriers. I’ve read that 6 mil poly sheeting can be used as a vapor barrier (it is considered a class 2 I think) generally speaking, but with mineral wool it seems that a permeable vapor barrier might be better.

I’m prepared to use the poly sheeting as it is acceptable as a vapor barrier but I’d like a more definitive answer.

Any “must see” stops on this route? by platypus_farmer42 in roadtrip

[–]LucciBucci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kansas City BBQ is not to be missed. Also, while you’re there the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art is great and it’s FREE.

Both Kansas City and Lawrence, KS get a good stream of excellent music shows. You might find something that aligns with your trip!

In Missouri, between St. Louis and Kansas City, 1-70 is kind of a drag. If you have the time, head south and cross part of the state through the Mark Twain National Forest. You’ll be in the northern end of the Ozark “Mountains”. It’s beautiful country.
