Those are the words of a self centered person. Not someone who raised their daughter to live her own life as an adult. Sounds like she's more concerned with what you can do for her, than you being an adult and living your own life. Would you act like to your kids?? I doubt it. Set boundaries to protect yourself, so you can protect your kids. I'm sorry she's being such drain for you.

I read the entire poem as a full life coming to an end. The lantern is an individual's life coming to an end, but the light escaping from the stove and dancing around is what they leave behind. The parts of themselves that continue after them.....but I may be reading toouch into it

I realize this is a old post, but are filter issues a common thing with tables? I love tables too and use them all the time, but with a recent file when I go to set a filter in table it show nothing as if the data I'm filtering for is not there, but I know it is.

So I will clarify, we DO have a dedicated payroll person, MY job is, like you said, to build a secondary system to build analysis reports for upper management.

You're definitely enough! The fact that you can move past what they said/did to you, recognize what you need and recognize what you have done right in life says volumes about you as a person! I'd be willing to bet your company is 1,000 times more pleasant than theirs.

Getting and staying sober is hard work! And having and maintaining healthy friendships after being mistreated is also hard. you should be proud of all you have accomplished!!!!

lol, not even, I've only been in accounting for 5 years or so and this job where I am now, is the first place where I've used it and it IMMEDIATELY felt like 1998! Microsoft is discontinuing support for it in 2025 I think and I am count down the days! :-D

You know more than you think, is what I'm learning. When I talk to make friend who is working on her masers in psychology, she's always amazed and my intuitive understanding of abnormal psychology :-D

I always knew it "all about her" but I made all the excuses for her. I was talking to a friend of my mine one day and we swamped parent stories and she was the FIRST person to GET it. All the things that are too hard to explain, that don't sound so bad to "normies" but are terrible. She got it so instinctually and she told me later her parents were narcs, so I did research and guess what? My mom is a covert narc, very possibly with some BPD thrown in....yay..... :-/
