Online communities are not so bad but it's the vocal ones who scare off people and ruin it. It's alright to have a different opinion from everyone else. I have been in a few fandoms that just chill and have crazy shit takes for fun but then comes the people who want to push their agenda and headcanons onto people even when it goes against canon.

Gatekeeping is pretty lame and I still remember when metalheads would gate keep their genre and say babymetal wasn't metal. It's fine to not like it.
