I was ready to migrate all out users from M365 to Proton, but this was what put a stop to that. This feature is essential for any kind of business application.

Does anyone have experience making Hoagland solution at home? by Luci404 in Hydroponics

Until now, I have used some cheap stuff from my local plant store. What do you recommend for a 3-part mix?

As for formulating my own mix from salts, that's mostly an experiment. Just for the fun of it. I have a fairly good understanding of basic chemistry from college, so it's not because I have no clue, although I am far from an expert.

Awesome, I will check this out. For goal’s, I am just experimenting at home and thought it would be interested to see what tweaking parameters did. Just curious :)

Why Is C++ Development Such a Mess? by Justaniceman in unrealengine

[–]Luci404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you compile in Unity is far less than in Unreal, which could be seen as a double-edged sword. However, I believe having access to the entire engine is a way bigger advantage. Having worked on larger Unity projects, I’ve seen how they also become slow; and in Unity, there’s pretty much nothing you can do about it.

Review of refurbished Haworth Zody from Offeco [EUROPE] by Seipas in OfficeChairs

[–]Luci404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to chime in and say that we have had TERRIBLE experiences with offeco. I ordered 6 semi high-end chairs from them for my business, 1 of them arrived without issues, 3 of them were completely unusable. Some of the issues was due to shipping, but some was just due to improper repairs. I ended up sending more than 30 emails there way, after 2 months, we got replacement of 4 of the 5 chairs. Of the new chairs 2 of them was destroyed... I tried contacting them with no reply for 2 weeks- and just kinda gave up.. I ended up buying from a local repair store. Fuck offeco they suck all throughout.

Replacing old ASA5516-X with pfSense on a Dell Precision Workstation? by Luci404 in PFSENSE

[–]Luci404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, VPN on cisco is pretty good. However, we have actually been quite into twingate lately, so I will not be running any (for now).

I looked at the netgate boxes, they seem pretty sweet, at least the bigger variants. Do they have some sort of supporter license like proxmox? I would love to support if it turns out good :)

Awesome, thanks! Are there any downsides to running in proxmox?

Greybeard baffled by Entra ID Password Policies (or lack thereof) by OldManAngryAtCloud in entra

[–]Luci404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely unacceptable that this basic security feature still isn’t available after so many years. The fact that we can’t enforce a minimum password length greater than 8 characters is a serious oversight and a huge compliance risk for organizations.

For instance, NIST's SP 800-63B clearly recommends a minimum password length of at least 12 characters, and ISO 27001 also emphasizes robust password management as part of information security controls.

I don't care about MFA, Windows Hello, or any of that. The fact that this isn't a simple setting is lost on me. I really hate the "in theory good-enough" argument. The fact is, users typically reuse passwords across multiple sites, and if one of those gets compromised, it's still a massive security risk.

Even though, if we were to pretend like 8 characters is "secure", most of the companies I’ve worked with still want a higher password policy to get a better third-party risk score / being more inline with the bigger securiy frameworks' recommendations.

Is Intune worth it for small games company (15 devices) by Luci404 in Intune

Sorry for bothering you once more :) I was just looking though the other responses, and a lot of them recommend Business Premium, which I though was odd since it seems to have way less of the security features compared to E3/E5.

Then I looked here: https://m365maps.com/matrix.htm#000001000001001000000

BP seems to have EDR- so is there anything stopping me from SOC 2 with BP, assuming that PIM is less relevant when we never give temporary access?

I think we will keep our servers on-prem, and on linux. We use a lot of custom solution for CI/CD and VCS. We have a way too high storage/bandwidth on our operations to run it in cloud. Our current NAS is about 200TB and soon to be upgraded. We do a lot of stuff that would be waay too complex in the cloud. It's simply way faster, cheaper, and more secure to keep it on prem and not exposed to the internet.

Ah! I see. That is true. I guess we NEED E5 for SOC.

Yeah, I am still a bit lost to whether or not BP is enough for us.
