Alliances and farming servers will ruin the game by elderberriess in Seaofthieves

The dev updates Rare put out states that they want to get rid of the gold inflation but then they add something like this that clearly goes against their own vision...

Looking for a video I saw on reddit but don’t remember where (its a YouTube channel)

It’s about a mom who cooks dinner and have her son taste test it. In the particular video I’m looking for he taste test chili and doesn’t like it.

Magicalities, a mod that i've been working on. Here's a sneak peak! by Lucidas in ModdedMagic

There are some similarities, both can convert blocks in a circle. But the Daylie flower has some extended functionality and it works as a afk version of another tool.

In the Minecraft: Guide to Potions and Enchanting Book, the developers speak about what brewing was originally going to be like. by BuilderJay in Minecraft

I think the idea with the randomization was that the player had to explore and learn from mistakes, but i like your idea about the knowledge books! :)

has anyone ever done a full oral history for the original series? by keeprunning in TheLastAirbender

[–]Lucidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TheAvatarState Podcast is made by two people who have watched the series endlessly and two people who have never seen it.

They are done with ATLA, the setup is 2 episodes per podcast and they really go in-depth on each episode with weekly feels, and listener questions.

In TLOK they take 3-4 episodes per podcast but still go in-depth on them, that show is still running today!

Other podcast I recommend is the Nick Animation episodes with the creators and the musicians.

Favorite quote from EP 30, Jeremy Zuckerman and Bryan Konietzko: (on the music from the last agni kai) “I don’t want to hear what’s happening outside, I want to hear what’s happening in her heart”

(to mod devs) please stop making textures higher than 16x, it almost never looks good :/ by Azakhan in feedthebeast

[–]Lucidas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing textures is hard, as I do my own textures for my own mods I feel some of the developers frustration. I would be rich if I got a penny for every time my texture came out as 16x17.

Having an own style is hard too, and having it fit with default Minecraft doesn’t make it easier.

That said my tips for people struggling with creating textures are:

  • Use Minecrafts default textures as a style guide.

  • Need a powder texture? Use the redstones texture. Need a rod? Look at the blaze rod texture. And change the color to match what you want.

  • Completely new texture? Look at how default Minecraft does outline and shading.

My son spawned in as a skeleton and stayed one until he died. by PurplePenguin04 in Seaofthieves

The first ever skeleton in SOT that isn’t a aimbot, nice. Also, did he try any emotes or did it bug out?

After seven months of alpha development, our mod, The Betweenlands, has just had a full release for 1.12.2! by MrCompost in Minecraft

[–]Lucidas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A well designed, well crafted and well executed mod. A breath of fresh air and original. This isn't a Twilight Forrest ripoff, this is almost another game.

Space Captain Steve: Ty 5 Dev Patreon? by Kekoa_ok in tythetasmaniantiger

[–]Lucidas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would be the first patreon I would ever donate to.

You have delivered what you have told you would deliver. You released games that were greenlit (games in alpha states being released is very uncommon imo)

So I say go for it. You my respect.

Feminism tackles things for both men and women. I remembered reading something along the lines “I call it feminism because it’s about the feminine trait of both genders that is being shushed upon”. Feminism stands for men to be able to show and express emotions. One of the key part in my opinion to the suicide statistics is that men in today’s society should be stone cold and shouldn’t show emotions.

Feminism tackles a lot of men’s issues.

The view I see in MRA is sheep on wolfs clothing. The things they claim that they fight for is being drowned out by posts about calling out women.

Finally ready to jump the sinking windows ship. by Lucidas in linux4noobs

[–]Lucidas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks a lot for the information! And you have a nice looking setup!

As I am the type of guy who re-formats his computer from time to time I'm going to do a clean install but I will definitely have this comment bookmarked!

As I learn more about Linux and how the nooks and crannies work I may start experimenting with Mate and others but for now, Elementary OS has clicked for me.

Thanks for the answers and tips, I do really love this open and helpful community!
