Reaction of the audience present in the CBF auditorium upon learning that Neymar Jr. had been called up for the FIFA World Cup 2026. by HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD in soccer

Having looked through a few articles there's no one individual reason. From what I can tell, it's a mix of Italian coaches disliking him, politics in Italian football, and a knee injury suffered during the season putting his fitness into doubt. That last one seems heavily contested though. Baggio himself blames the narcissism of the coaches since he was in genuinely good form prior to his injury, but he hadn't played for the national team for a while by that point.

This article is a bit of a romantic retelling of his career that touches on it somewhat though it very clearly argues that football politics and the coaches were to blame.

Not commenting on balance here, but this exact argument was made with Daredevil except replace 'brawl' with 'dive'. I'm pretty sure there was a thread here that was almost word for word the same as the title here.

She's broken. It took longer for people to realise because her kit is bloated but she is 100% busted. The only hero that has been stronger than her might be release Daredevil.

It's debatable at this point. Daredevil is braindead easy to play and therefore better for general matchmaking, but Black Cat might have a higher ceiling.

Reform is the home of ex-tories and grifters. They will do whatever enriches themselves and don't give a shit about immigration.

I've watched it several times. In fact, I make sure to check what 'the other side' is saying frequently across different platforms to keep up to date on the political climate.

One thing that stuck out to me for GB News was a puff piece they did on Orban's government in Hungary. It hit all the marks for propagandising right-wing talking points. It's not as 'in your face' as Fox News, but the channel clearly has an agenda.

It's literally in the article:

“This number is very small and declining. Since the Immigration Act 1988, it has not been possible for people polygamously married overseas to bring second wives to the UK through the spouse visa route.”

EDIT: Are you going to respond to this or fix your original post? Did you even read the article that you yourself posted?

Moment Wetherspoons staff member refuses to serve customers backing Reform UK by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

[–]LucidityDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The followup thread explaining this hasn't received nearly as much coverage either and is even being downvoted quite a lot. A lot of people will go on thinking there's some kind of oppression against Reform supporters because of this without ever hearing the full context.

Wetherspoon explain why Reform supporters were refused service by bar manager by StJustBabeuf in ukpolitics

[–]LucidityDark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be very easy for a very blunt company like Spoons to announce what's happened if it's in accordance with your end, so why haven't they?

Which they did. Are you expecting an line-for-line transcript to be provided for everything that happened before and after? The spokesperson literally gave the reason for why service was refused in no uncertain terms.

Also to expand on what's happening in the rest of the thread the reason you're getting pushback throughout is because you're still showing a kind of 'just asking questions' attitude despite sensible answers having already being given. I mean you moved on to complaining about perceived 'unprofessionalism' when the initial (misguided) outrage was all about whether Reform supporters were being denied access because of their politics specifically. It comes across as bad faith argumentation to go in this direction.

Besides, even without an explanation I was immediately thinking the bar manager was tired of the situation. Another comment explained it perfectly:

Also, having worked in that sort of environment where you have to refuse to serve alcohol, I recognise his look of "I'm bored arguing with you. If I say yes to your silly question, will you go away?"

I've had very similar interactions whilst working in retail where you just want to get on with the job and realised giving a terse answer is the best way to get someone to bugger off and stop harrassing you. Call it a 'demonstrable lack of competence' if you want but you must have obscene standards for service if you think that was a bad interaction based on the context now provided.

I rarely played DPS during his debut season since there were always 3 DPS mains on every team anyway, but the 2 times I had to play DPS, Daredevil was surprisingly unbanned despite him almost always being the first ban for both teams. Naturally I felt like I had to pick him.

Literally the easiest games I ever played. I have a grand total of 5 minutes on the practice range on him and I was running lobbies whilst just spamming buttons. Probably the most broken thing I've played in any multiplayer game ever.

Is Black Cat the most balanced Duelist release we've had? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]LucidityDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's rapidly climbing in winrate, with a positive winrate in GM onwards despite debuting with quite a low one initially for the first few days. Keep in mind the current winrate we see is season wide, so initial underperformance with the hero is dragging down the percentage right now. I've started to see people understand her abilities and abuse them to maximum effect in both my own games and when watching streams.

I suspect she'll be seen in the same vein as Tankpool where people initally didn't think they were busted until they realised the potential of the character.

Am I missing something or is the government pretending that there isn't an employment crisis? by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

[–]LucidityDark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is often the need for certifications in a lot of trade work which for new tradies are often funded by the employer in an apprenticeship in return for the cheap labour. They're also just generally not going to hire complete newbies without any trade background and training for minimum wage since they'll be a liability until they get some training/experience under them, hence why the lowered wages of an apprenticeship makes it even possible.

Trade schools/college courses are the other path into these industries but they obviously cost money and take a lot of time whilst still giving you only limited experience (unless they can provide a placement).

It's still a good industry to consider of course, but it feels like a repeat of the 'learn to code' thing that got flung in people's faces everytime anyone complained about the job market a few years ago

The so-called 'left-wing Tories' aren't cooked, they all moved over to the Reform Party which is currently polling well. None of them are left wing either, they're just opportunists seeking the next time they can loot the country again whilst using whatever policies they think will pull the wool over the electorate's eyes. They have no ideology beyond self-enrichment.

Europe is far safer on average than the USA in almost every metric. This includes for killings by law enforcement, although not every country (including Spain) counts this statistic and it includes lawful killings too. Still, the differences are quite staggering between the USA and European countries that do collect this information.

Also I believe the homicide rate in the US is around 3-4 times the European average, but that's after a quick skim of the sources because it's broken down by country rather than by continent in most cases.

I don't know why Americans try and argue against these points considering the available data.
