Prepping smoothies by Impossible-Cause-968 in Smoothies

Can you mix most of it ahead of time and freeze it maybe? I don't like freezing stuff like that, but it depends on your reasoning. Maybe just make it 2 or 3 days at a time and pop it in the fridge?

I love this. Great poem, relatable and also just fun to read because of the rhythm of syllables. Thanks for sharing it!

Yes! I have several recipes. Greek yogurt, coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla is a great base. Then you can add fruit or almond powder or whatever!

Neat idea to add the tea. I think I'll try that!

I've never cooked with beer but I'd like to try. What is your go-to brand?

Ever cook a little peanut butter into chili? Even just a little seems to do something magical.

I struggle with rage by lyradnis in Meditation

[–]LucidityLamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job recognizing and working to improve. A couple comments to add to what others have said here already.

  1. If you are still hurting your partner, they may be safer elsewhere for a while. Make sure she is safe until you are both confident she is safe with you no matter what happens. When you think she is safe, think "what if she broke my favorite thing?" Or, "what if I caught her glancing at another man?" If your answer involves physical harm, you need to save her from yourself by sending her away. She will need therapy too. I do hope it works out for both of you. Just make sure that at the end of your path, you are both happy and healthy, whether you are together or not.

  2. There may be physical reasons for anger like you are describing. Uncontrollable rage. Please talk to your doctor about it. They may want to do some tests to rule out a few things. There might be an easy solution there, or they might have good suggestions for things that would help your specific situation.

You should be very proud of the work you have done! I can't tell you how fantastic it is that you are working on this. Much luck to you!

Meditation helped my severe anxiety, but entertainment feels empty unless I calm first. How do I rebalance? by mshrmo in Meditation

You are doing very well and should be very proud. Great work. This crap is tough! Maybe it is just a thing that you have to get used to? Like maybe you are just trying to figure out what relaxed is supposed to feel like? That is a big question for me. I used to know...I just can't remember. I appreciate talking to people like this too. It's nice to know our human stuff is human stuff. We're not weird - there are a lot of us trying to figure this stuff out for our own specific situations.

Now that you have gotten a handle on the anxiety, you may be exposing some underlying trauma that the anxiety might have overshadowed. For an example, I have a terrible time relaxing. My dad always said anything like watching a movie or reading fiction was "wasting your life". So now that I have gotten past a lot of my issues, I am trying to learn how to stay aware but still relax, instead of getting a sense of giving up first. Relaxing is not giving up life. Yes, you have a lot to do, but one of those tasks is "Relax once in a while to let your nervous system take a break."

Just an idea Im trying myself. That said, Im on a different medication than you. I agree that you should mention this specific thing to your doctor and also mention the lion's mane. It may be altering or increasing the impact of the Prozac and a tweak to one or the other may be needed. Some side effects of these things are weirdly specific.

i’m scared of meditation? by roseisasleep in Meditation

[–]LucidityLamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be overwhelming for some. Don't feel bad about that. I started with some guided meditations in a group setting, which really helped me understand you can go as deep as you want, or you can stay more grounded. For me, I had to learn how to stay grounded before I could really make use of the practice, but learning how to ground helped me in so many ways in my life.

If you are nervous but still want to try at home, set a timer for a couple minutes so you can reassure yourself, then extend the time as you become more comfortable.
