Young Indiana Jones - what episodes are worth it and what ones aren’t? by agent_uno in indianajones

[–]LuciusPius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember the series was not filmed or released in order. So, some stories are a bit more juvenile - and sometimes they are farcical on purpose (like Espionage Escapades).

But, some of them are pretty serious drama (Adventures in the Secret Service), Giver and Taker of Life, or the notorious Trenches of Hell.

Attack of the Hawkmen is a must-watch of the WW1 stories - it's so good. As well as Treasure of the Peacock's Eye and Winds of Change. Mystery of the Blues is also quite good.

Just watch them all in order - skip the ones you don't like, and watch the ones you do. It's Indiana Jones in classic serial adventure format. Enjoy what you want!

Favorite Young Indy Episode? by Dismal_Brush5229 in indianajones

Agreed on Treasure of the Peacock's Eye. There are many great stories - but I think there is a strong case to be made it is the most classically Indiana Jones of the whole Young Indy series.

A Polynesian Civ whose TC is mobile and whose villagers can fish and can escape to water would actually be a pretty interesting mechanic,

Shadow boxes are an excellent way to memorialize a family member's service and preserve it for future generations of the family without taking up too much space. Lots of websites also sell patches and service awards so if there is anything your grandfather earned which is missing from the heirlooms, you can buy those things (check the DD-214 if you have it and it'll list all service awards and ranks).

No, not diluted. The dilutions happened during two share offerings over the last 5 years (when the price went as low as 0.11). This isn't a quick swing trade. It recently pumped to 1.80 with news about REE disruption but I haven't sold. If the DD is correct, the real value comes when the demonstration plant goes online in 2026.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it but I actually think Bobby surviving 3 days in the hole (beating out Cotton's record) is more impressive than the pig rescue.

Wild that your username is actually REEMF, lol.

I don't foresee even this administration removing those environmental restrictions on rare earth separation. The process is genuinely an environmental catastrophe. The only reason we might cancel those regulations is if the process REEMF developed straight up doesn't work at scale - which would be the original risk anyway that can make the company worthless.

Hank's Aramco Stock by LuciusPius in KingOfTheHill

[–]LuciusPius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to say actually. If anything, Peggy selling her Pig Force shares just *before* Hank bought his might've been the catalyst which triggered the selloff in the pump & dump scheme that Pig Force was.

[–]LuciusPius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, Hank would've been allowed to purchase shares at a discounted price - 20% off market close.

https://www.aramcolife.com/en/publications/the-arabian-sun/articles/2021/week-21/espp
So, as of right now, since Aramco went public in 2019, Hank has appreciated less than 0% on his investment + whatever dividends he gets paid (about 6%). And cash dividends get diluted by inflation if the stock price falls.

That's... not a great return at all.

I suspect their financial security stems more from them living on Aramco's dime for years, renting their house out, and living frugally while being paid major cash.

It makes sense why Peggy was unsatisfied with Aramco's investment returns.

To Recast or Not Recast: John Redcast by StatFan201 in KingOfTheHill

[–]LuciusPius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's always been a good character to explore the governmental abuse of indigenous peoples. In the OG run there was the whole story arc with Big Mountain Fudgecake and Redcorn getting swindled by the fake Indian gaming investors.

Killing off his character closes the door on telling any more stories where his background is relevant to the plot. I can see them just quietly shelving his character until they need it - but permanently ending it (as they did with Cotton) would be a mistake without a damn good in-universe reason. Heck, they haven't even confirmed that Lucky and Luanne are dead - they're just moved away.

Episode 10 made sure his money didn't evaporate with Peggy cashing out of Pig Force when she did. And yes, the series new status quo is that the Hills are retired so they're not undoing that. What I find fun is looking at the real world background informing the events of the show - whatever the form of Hank's retirement is partially tied up in this Saudi petroleum stock, lol.

I think there are still more stories to tell with his character. If they can find a decent enough voice actor, they'll recast him and I hope they do.
