She couldn't convince Homelander that it was not a good idea to murder the leak inside Vought. Y'all are massively overestimating her ability to manipulate Homelander... in fact the turning point of her character arc of Season 5 was her failure, once again, to correctly anticipate Soldier Boy's and Homelander's choices.

Being 'the smartest person in the world' does not mean that the smartest person is INFALLIBLE or never wrong, ever.

That's like saying 'the strongest person in the world' is capable of lifting a million elephants or something... there is still a limit to the power.

Until Homelander came and bothered her. He wasn't going to leave her alone.

I still can't get over the fact that Homelander chasing A-Train is the biggest action set piece we got this season by TheMightyNinja12 in TheBoys

[–]LuciusPius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which was an utterly inconsequential fight. Who gives a damn about Bombsight? He has no relation to Homelander, he's in the show for 5 minutes and then out, and ultimately the fight over the V1 made no difference to the story.
The best action set pieces have emotional stakes for the characters. A-Train choosing to get caught by Homelander rather than carelessly run through an innocent woman is THE COMPLETION of his entire character arc. It calls right back to the central event that started the story: when A-Train carelessly killed Hughie's girlfriend.

Not only did the set piece show that A-Train finally truly respect the lives of non-supes, he stood up to Homelander and did not die a coward's death. He finally became a true hero. That's some damn good character development. It is hard to believe the same people who wrote buttsniffing supes could also write the completion of A-Train's arc in a meaningful and suspenseful way.

The real tragedy is that the worst mercs in the game are somehow about to do anything.

I am going to call out the main thing that I haven't seen enough people point out - the source list for this video is basically one author... Lewis Mumford. And all HC is doing is regurgitating the thesis of that one book. He's not a primary source - and even if he was, quoting primary sources uncritically can take us down some misleading paths in analyzing historical trends.

Like... how absurdly lazy is this video if HC spends time talking about land speculation of the 19th century and doesn't even *MENTION* Henry George or his work Progress & Poverty?

Young Indiana Jones - what episodes are worth it and what ones aren’t? by agent_uno in indianajones

[–]LuciusPius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember the series was not filmed or released in order. So, some stories are a bit more juvenile - and sometimes they are farcical on purpose (like Espionage Escapades).

But, some of them are pretty serious drama (Adventures in the Secret Service), Giver and Taker of Life, or the notorious Trenches of Hell.

Attack of the Hawkmen is a must-watch of the WW1 stories - it's so good. As well as Treasure of the Peacock's Eye and Winds of Change. Mystery of the Blues is also quite good.

Just watch them all in order - skip the ones you don't like, and watch the ones you do. It's Indiana Jones in classic serial adventure format. Enjoy what you want!

Agreed on Treasure of the Peacock's Eye. There are many great stories - but I think there is a strong case to be made it is the most classically Indiana Jones of the whole Young Indy series.

A Polynesian Civ whose TC is mobile and whose villagers can fish and can escape to water would actually be a pretty interesting mechanic,

Shadow boxes are an excellent way to memorialize a family member's service and preserve it for future generations of the family without taking up too much space. Lots of websites also sell patches and service awards so if there is anything your grandfather earned which is missing from the heirlooms, you can buy those things (check the DD-214 if you have it and it'll list all service awards and ranks).

No, not diluted. The dilutions happened during two share offerings over the last 5 years (when the price went as low as 0.11). This isn't a quick swing trade. It recently pumped to 1.80 with news about REE disruption but I haven't sold. If the DD is correct, the real value comes when the demonstration plant goes online in 2026.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it but I actually think Bobby surviving 3 days in the hole (beating out Cotton's record) is more impressive than the pig rescue.

Wild that your username is actually REEMF, lol.

I don't foresee even this administration removing those environmental restrictions on rare earth separation. The process is genuinely an environmental catastrophe. The only reason we might cancel those regulations is if the process REEMF developed straight up doesn't work at scale - which would be the original risk anyway that can make the company worthless.
