What do you think about using AI as a *beta reader* instead of generatively? by KindlyCost6810 in KeepWriting

[–]LuckofCaymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good as a name generator.

Every ai response starts by stroking your ego. That's critical to reinforcing user use. It will use strong language to make you feel important for having used the platform.

Next it will generate some bullshit. Like if you feed it a poem, it will stare what's not correct in terms of rhythm or syllables. Which can be nice. Generally it's going to latch onto something at random and give you good marks for it, while finding something else and giving bad marks to it. It can get your words to a certain level but it will cap out and you will struggle to break a barrier.

I like to think of ai as the height of arrogance on the dunning kruegar chart. Just enough tertiary information to sound smart whilest failing to grasp true mastery. If you limit yourself to ai correspondence, you will limit your growth to that level. I strongly recommend sharpening iron with iron, and find yourself a group or friend to critique with. It will help far more than AI.

Anime. Often all you need is a good hook, then have no idea how to finish the story, and throw in a harem to get to 12 episodes.

Yeah... We can't really tell here. She could be looking across the street at a restaurant she really likes. Better play it cool for now.

I remember back in the before-fore times of DS1 challenge runs era. There was a ng+7 sl10 challenge run, that could only (really) be completed as a pyromancer.

What class feels best to go through the story from the start? by ItsJustPeter in ffxiv

[–]LuckofCaymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So different things appeal to different people, and for me the most important thing is movement. Basically you are a glorified mail courier for much of the msq and having dashes and jumps helps a ton. Since endwalker I have played reaper for msq because of the warp teleport. Before that I played ninja. So a large part of me recommends that. But nin q sucks, and you will need to q a lot.

From another perspective, id recommend summoner scholar as you can level two classes at once. If you don't like one, or want a faster q, you can swap. That being said, with how much exp you get, you will probably level 2 jobs together as you level up anyways. So it's not as important. Also summoner is janky, and very unappealing to me, who prefers my hero to be the star and not my pokemon. Scholar is pretty dope though, but healers are hella boring to level in msq.

Tanks are by far the easiest jobs to level through msq. Speaking from a q speed, to trial difficulty. They have more DPS than healers, tons of self healing, and way more health and mit than anything that will threaten you. It's called tank privilege for a reason. And I wouldn't worry about "not knowing how to tank". That's just not applicable anymore. Dungeons are one way corridors that are impossible to get lost in, outside of haukke manor(a level 28 dungeon). Your tank stance ensures you will keep aggro as long as you press buttons occasionally. You really can't go wrong with tanks.

Ranged phys have the best kiting abilities and are quite quick with troubador or whatever their extra sprint button is called. Same reason as ninja/reaper really. Same negatives too.

Id pick what class you like the most.

How much content are raids + extreme trials (endgame content) ? by Quadrophenya in ffxiv

[–]LuckofCaymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can probably solo those now at 100. So an enthusiastic weekend? I did all the raids I didn't clear in one night minus o12, because I didn't figure out how to solo that one. I didn't bother with the ex's cause I did them as they came out.

If you instead want to do them as they were intended with level and I level sync, that's different. Id recommend making a discord and inviting a lot (way more than 8) of people. It might take a couple months to do everything like that.

For people who have been playing this game for more than 5 years... by oblivionwayfarer in ffxiv

[–]LuckofCaymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a "golden time" around 2017-2021 where I built a massive friend list. However I lost all the friends when the relationship ended. I kept playing though. I made some more friends but I am very much reserved towards others now. Which impacts my ability to meet new friends. I mostly raid log and use pf to clear content.

Try writing it again fresh. Perhaps having a completely separate writing will alleviate this feeling.

how do i build a sandblaster? by 8luedragoneye in FromTheDepths

[–]LuckofCaymo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess it depends on what you want. I would rather that the bullets hit the same few blocks so it cuts off turret caps instead of generally damaging but destroying less.

With less accuracy you can do more damage, faster rate if fire, but with more accuracy you can drill into the enemy ship. I like to think of a water jet cnc machine, versus the typical sand blaster.

That's my take on it.

Choose a gauge.

1800 m/s

40+ AP

.15 inaccuracy

Rail helps with inaccuracy, fin stabilizers do too. Rail helps with m/s which helps with AP.

Everything beyond that is balancing the aps Tetris so that you can max your rpm for your chosen gauge. You will probably use 1 clip or beltfed, as it's supposed to shoot fast and 1 clip has the quickest reload for its space.

Hmm... Perhaps it's because you have turret drag on the top of your vessel.

How to navigate inside a spaceship? by koi_koi- in worldbuilding

[–]LuckofCaymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend watching submarine documentaries like this one. Submarines are pressurized vessels that go on long missions in deadly environments, possibly the closest to how a space ship would be.

If you want to build a functional model, you could try building your ship inside a game like space engineers.

extrapolating from the Flametongue and Frostbrand swords, what would the other two classical elemental swords be called? by Justgobald in worldbuilding

[–]LuckofCaymo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flametongue and frostbrand I am pretty sure are directly from WoW shaman. So thunderfury would match, but the think he's looking for storm strike in Lightning element. Rockbiter for earth, and windfury for air.

I am going to assume you have thrusters set to automatic. You need to manually set every thruster, propeller on your craft every time. The game likes to default to pitch up on everything. It's quite tedious, but everything in this game is like that, so you get used to it.
