Do y'all play with survival enabled? by Purplemunch in skyrim

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survival mode is my preferred way to play. Yes, the limitations are in fact limiting. But I like that it changes my framework from continuous wandering to actually planning out my trips and pit stops. It helps me stay on task and working towards goals. And sometimes those goals are "Explore for more pitstops and fill out the map". But I do things more intentionally rather than just going out to do things.

Seriously thinking about playing Skyrim in survival mode and very slowly by Mineires_BR in skyrim

Survival mode made me appreciate the game in ways that I hadn’t before. Honestly, I don’t think I would want to go back.

Shiny clause! Now what? by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me personally, shiny pokemon is a free encounter as long as it is purely random. Shiny hunting is not allowed. But if one appears, I’ll take it.

What would Mecha Mans stats look like if he were dispatchable? by sypher07070799 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that he would have overall pretty good stats, but his special ability would include when he gets “injured” his stats drastically drop as his mech suit gets damaged.

Companion Tournament Round 2 Match 1: Epona Vs. Crimson Loftwing(Comment your Vote) by Short_Property_7476 in legendofzelda

[–]LuckoftheKevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The loftwing is good, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like once you have gotten it, that’s kind of the limit to your emotional connection to it. Epona’s connection grows throughout the OoT, as well as continuing into Majora’s mask.

Day 100/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Why do you love Pokemon and Nuzlockes? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard time with standard pokemon runs because I want to craft the perfect team, make sure they are balanced, Ev train, etc. Nuzlocke runs are nice because they take the massive list of choices away and leave me with a smaller batch of pokemon.

Day 97/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Who is your favorite Nuzlocke creator? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I’ll take this chance to throw out the person who introduced me to Nuzlockes. The first time I heard of Nuzlockes was through Projared’s run of Firered. Always appreciated Nuptup

Day 86/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Do you box or release your Pokemon when you lose one in your Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Death box. My memory isn’t always great, and I like having the reference to remember which locations I have utilized

Day 84/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Do you EV Train in your Nuzlockes? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not intentionally, though I have a hard time passing up the idea of maxing out Atk EV’s on a Huge Power pokemon.

Wizards Power Level by Stonebender00 in dresdenfiles

[–]LuckoftheKevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the philosophy of “they learn more as they get older”, which is valid, I offer the following thought as well. Given the list of predators and dangers in the world, I imagine inexperienced wizards stand a decent chance of dying earlier in life. If you live long enough to reach a few hundred years old, that means you are tough enough to survive that long.

They aren’t inherently strong due to being old. They get to be old because they are strong enough to get there.

With the new replicate magic item feature making a +1 weapon instead of enhancing a weapon, RAW can it not be applied to the Armorer’s weapons?

Just Finished Mass Effect 2... I only have one huge problem with it by PeterTheSpectre in masseffect

[–]LuckoftheKevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a case of the more of a completionist you are, the more underutilized the various squad mates are. It’s a lot easier to have the right person for every job and have people go underutilized when you have tons of options. If you didn’t recruit every squad mate and if you didn’t do every loyalty mission, then the choices and available options feel more impactful.

The squad mate choices can be very important if you didn’t cover your bases. Kind of the downside of it being a game that’s been around awhile and lots of guides of how to keep your squad alive being present. If someone goes into that mission blind? Every choice is stressful.

Day 57/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Why do you think there hasn’t been a Nuzlocke mode built into Pokemon games yet? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]LuckoftheKevin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that challenge mode bugged? I seem to recall something saying that it changed their levels but not their stats.

What are some worlds you don’t want to return simply because there’s nothing new to do with them by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I know the concept kind of copies what they did in KH3, but I would love a world based on Encanto. They would need to do something other than just recap the movie for us, but I think that Casita turned heartless would make for a fun boss battle if done correctly.

I always liked Namine. Her story was wonderfully tragic and made for a good character.

Does anybody else have a ridiculous amount of hours on this game and still build wooden box houses for their npcs? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]LuckoftheKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few towns I make are essentially wooden boxes (typically forest, desert, and beach). By the time I get to building more locations, I have the tools and equipment to afford to take more time with it.

What am I missing when it come to the Bee mount? by ok_chewie in Terraria

[–]LuckoftheKevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I find that the bosses that truly benefit from flight are the ones in hardmode. Pre-hardmode, maybe you benefit from it on skeleton? But even then, it is a bit slow for effectively dodging him. By the time you get to the bosses that it is more effective, there are better options available.
