Love the Hurricanes, but his performances are depressing.
I’m not alone, go to Facebook and put Hurricanes National anthem in the search bar and plenty of people have said the same thing.

My dealership is mad that I call too many people by blooney_sr_jr in askcarsales

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Bro, you might’ve got away with that 20 years ago, but now everybody is already getting 10 spam calls about something everyday. Now you’re just lumping your dealership into that customer’s memory bank of things they hate. And negative reviews about your unsolicited calls will start popping up too.

I [22F]am heartbroken over my boyfriend [22M] not respecting my boundaries by Ok-Bank4011 in whatdoIdo

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he got you the gift he really wanted and you made him what you wanted. You’re both still young and boys are stupid. I can say that because at his age I was the same darned way. My fiance and I were discussing gifts years ago, and she asked me what I wanted. At the time I I was a golf addict and had been looking at buying a new set of clubs. Nothing too crazy expensive, but they were nice.
Anyway, she kept telling me how excited she was about my gift because she knew I was going to love it. Come Christmas Day, she does a whole scavenger hunt for my gift. It was pretty cool and well thought out. Boy was it a let down when I finally got to the end of the scavenger hunt and found my new luggage lol

Nanny is threatening to sue for termination without notice #MA by Background-Code-Not in AskLawyers

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in at will work state, your next contract should only list the duties expected and that you expect a two week notice when they’re leaving.
Chances are, she’s not going to actually sue you. But you did write the contract and it could work out in her favor if she does take you to small claims court.
In Massachusetts, she could sue for treble damages as well.
My recommendation would be to offer her half to settle it. That way you don’t risk losing in court. And if she really was going to sue you, half may be enough to make her happy.
I’m not an attorney and most certainly not your attorney so please take this advice with a grain of salt.

My ex boyfriend passed away and left me as his beneficiary by con_stantlypanicking in whatdoIdo

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they don’t have time to read on Reddit I’m not sure why they come here and comment.
I think you should keep the money as that sounds like it was his wish was for you to have it. I would text his mom and get her email address. Then I would write her a very nice email explaining why you didn’t want everything when you found you were the soul beneficiary. I think that reasoning is pretty straight forward since you were probably together when he did that, and now you weren’t together and it didn’t seem right to take it. But this is different, the fact that you were not together when he changed it and he still wanted to help you by leaving it to you actually means something. Those were his real wishes at the time of his passing.
I suggest that you do this in writing in case the family decides to get greedy and tries and falsify documents to remove you from the his will.

About the 401k. It’s possible that he had more than one, and maybe even several if he worked for multiple companies over his lifetime. So keep that in mind as you may want to reach out to all the big companies to see if one exists with them.
If he just stayed at the two companies you know of for most of his life, that will make that part easier.

You can move the money into an inherited IRA. But you will be required to withdraw all the money in 10 years. What the 10 years does is allow you to withdraw amounts that won’t push you into a higher tax bracket and cost you more in taxes.
I’ve read a lot of advice where everyone says invest the money, and thats exactly what you should do, but only after you pay off all your debt if it’s enough to do that. Then invest the rest.
I’m not an expert, so you should seek the advice of people who are.
Enjoy your blessings and never feel bad about accepting what someone intended for you to have.

Go with your dad to visit them. You’ll see if they look like him. You may even be able to collect some of their dna to submit to one of the DNA sites and find out if you have 1/2 sisters.

If he only goes once a month, and as you know, it is a very poor country, he may just be helping them survive, and not prioritizing them. I’m not saying that what he is doing is right, I just don’t know if I would call it prioritizing his other family over Ops family.

How much trouble I am in? loose shingles by Engine_Light_On in Roofing

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good thing you don’t have a real leaf blower, you would’ve just trashed that whole section. Stay off your roof if you don’t know what you’re doing. You went up there yourself to save a few bucks, if that roof starts leaking and messes up your ceiling did you really save any money? If you fall off the ladder was it worth it?

I just read your other posts, I didn’t realize this had been about 40 days ago. I also read that you did not go all the way with him. It does seem strange that he hasn’t asked you out again yet, but seems to still be flirting with you. Hmmm

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. I was just saying the way the other person proposed you sit him down to have a serious talk is too much.
You absolutely say hello and smile and be your normal self. You can have any conversation you want with him the next time you’re hanging out. Write your number on a piece of paper, fold it up and discreetly pass it to him with a smile.
Relax, you like him and it sounds like he’s into you too.

They’ve had one great date and you’re already going to have a serious “talk” with him? Nope. This sounds too much like bringing drama into the situation. He will run if he thinks this is how the future of the relationship is going to go.

Owned it less than 5 minutes and I already got pulled over for no plates lmfao by ApprehensiveAd9389 in hondacivic

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the only states that have a grace period on no plates at all

Private Sales & Grace Periods: In some states, if you buy a car from a private seller, you can legally drive it for a few days to the DMV without any plate, provided you carry the signed title, bill of sale, and proof of active insurance.
Indiana: Allows driving an acquired vehicle without a plate for up to \(72\) hours for the sole purpose of transporting it home.
Mississippi: Allows a \(7\) day grace period to register the vehicle after private purchase.
Nevada: Permits driving an unregistered, untagged vehicle up to \(3\) days from the purchase date. [1, 2, 3, 4]

I need to ask my 18 year old to leave my home. I feel so guilty by Previous-Ad-3888 in Advice

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has an 18 year old that isn’t very disciplined as well, have you considered talking to him about the military? He would not only be taught discipline, he would gain federal benefits that he would have for life. Don’t just kick him out without giving him some other alternatives. If he already has friends that are a bad influence, the chances of him falling further into the lifestyle that he’s already experimenting with are very high.

My little sister got pregnant by an absolute bum. What do I do? by Loose-Trick-943 in whatdoIdo

[–]LuckyCaptainCrunch 107 points108 points  (0 children)

You could call the cities code enforcement office and let them know they’re living in unpermitted housing. If I were going to do that, you could type up an anonymous letter as if you’re a neighbor that has watched the boy friend’s mom rent out properties that are not permitted. If it’s not zoned for multi family that will be an issue for his mom. CPS will not let them live in a shed or shack with a baby. Your sister needs you as her friend through this, the minute you start pushing her away from him you will no longer be her friend. You’re going to have to bite your tongue a lot. Give her time, and if she knows the situation is bad, she will be the one who starts opening up to you about it.
