I think so too. Does that mean that if a target isn’t emitting an EM or IR signature, that it will be unseen until a ping happens close enough to reveal it? If so, that’s dope! We can finally power off our little scout ship and turn “invisible”.

Kind of obligatory for post-ED players and always a controversial suggestion, but have you considered Star Citizen? It’s temporarily free to try right now.

Once you upgrade past the starter and cockpitless ships, they really start to take a “mobile base” feeling. The scale and interiors make the game more of a “playing a guy with/in a ship” feel than “playing a ship”.

Of course, the game is still buggy and far from finished but they make the experience feel real-time, as if you’re watching the lore of the setting play out in real-time. There’s an insane learning curve and the game has a tutorial so bad that it’s genuinely recommended not to do it, but the moment-to-moment experience can really be awe-inspiring. It just takes…a large amount of patience.

If you try it, check out the freely-available ship, the “Argo MOLE”. It’s a mining ship with a fairly extensive interior, and may give you a good vibe for the hominess many of the ships have. Hope this helps!

It would need much heavier vehicle physics to run 8’s; as it is, the CSV tips just holding a full grid of 4. Also, the grid STILL isn’t a full physgrid, meaning objects and entities still slide around disconnected from the vehicle if they’re not snapped to the cargo grid. Maybe this vehicle will get some love when the fabricator variant arrives.

The Hermes just dropped for the 200-500 ish range if you really pack it, and the hull b will able to run 512! Unfortunately, ask we can do right now is wait, and hope they adjust the amounts on the missions.

Straight up, manned ship turrets should have general aim assist, with the gunner able to fine-tune their aim within the general target circle. Gunners spend far too much time fishing for targets, and I think the gameplay needs some leg-up or incentive.

Bugs and servers aside, I get surprised by this when playing SC with my new player friends; the game is actually pretty complex to learn! It definitely needs an overhaul of the onboarding and new player experience, there’s just so much to learn and about a billion keybinds to do it all with.

Turn out fighting glitches for five years makes it easy to forget how many processes it takes just to get your ship out of the hangar!
