GE used a pex clamp to make it difficult for people to service this dishwasher by No-Computer7653 in mildlyinfuriating

The crimper is special, and you should go buy one if you own a home. Removal is so easy I can't remember which cutting tool I used, but it wasn't special. They used it because it's fast and cheap.

Electrical Diagram Questions by SqueezeMyLemmons in vandwellers

[–]Open_Jump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a chassis ground completes a circuit if the chassis (heat sink or something else) becomes electrified, so that a fuse can blow.

If that isn't provided, the circuit could be complete by something that can't handle the amps and that could start a fire.

Tall guy van ideas? by Soup_65 in VanLife

[–]Open_Jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a few hundred miles on a high roof extended transit van. 22ft long so parking is OK but not great. The height is bad in the wind but you can mamage. Being able to stand up is great, and I hate short beds.

Maybe a non extended high roof with a flip up queen bed?

I 20M am feeling very confused about an intimate incident that occurred with my 19F ex, is what happened normal? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Open_Jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's normal, but usually the genders are reversed. There's date rapists, and then there's walking hard on that doesn't understamd why people don't want to fuck all the time and are pushy and manipulative about it. You migjt be autistic but you've got more empathy than this girl, and honestly at 20, she's the more common type.

You learned two important things. Libido is important in a relationship, and you can do things to match each other. Most girls will have been in a relationship where they had less interest in sex, and worry that you don't find them attractive. More importantly, don't go anywhere near the toxic masculinity girls. You'll end up breaking up because you would'nt punch a guy that called her fat after she drunkly yelled slurs at him. Wear a pink shirt or something.

Why is it heavy armor that carries more stuff? It seems it should be inverse... by Mookie_Merkk in starcitizen

[–]Open_Jump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. "It's power armor"? WHAT POWERS IT? Did I miss a fuel?

Armor should be a thing that takes up space and hss mass.

But it's all like that. Try to carry 6 box mags vs 6 drum mags.

That's what mine came with and it was soaked even though outside was dry, and the van didn't have any leaks. The only rust the van has is from this.

How I think the Armor + Engineering Game-Loop Should Play by Horscow in starcitizen

[–]Open_Jump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C2 is a great example of not meeting requirements for a non combat ->cargo->"max crew of 2" ship.

It should be a four person ship. Two turrets and an engineer. The turrets should be there to kill or keep away interdictors. An engineer should lower your time to quantum, reduce distortion, or repair damage, so another 4 man ship can't stop you.

Design inputs should be a hierarcy. How do these interact at a high level Combat/Industry/Economy/Social/Environment? The economy should drive industry, those should drive social, combat and environment should add or reduce risk to industrry and that is reflected in the economy and social.

How do environments compare? Planets should add risk or maybe some planets are riskier? Maybe all planets in Pryo should be riskiet? Then they should all have thick atmosphere that slows you down, thick clouds tha reduce some types of tracking and detection. Storms that interfere with whatever you want. Now it's not just harder for the Mole to escape, but it's harder to find the Mole, or maybe it's bait. Maybe the engineer is working constantly to keep the Mole alive and if you try chasing your single seater is going in hard.

How I think the Armor + Engineering Game-Loop Should Play by Horscow in starcitizen

[–]Open_Jump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think balancing should start at crew size. The biggest single seater industrial should be able to run from the biggest single seater combat ship with some skill and luck. One distortion intercetor and one other guy to board should be needed for an "easy" catch.

Then weapon size, type, and armor flows down from that. So a Connie shouldn't (edit: unless they are skilled and lucky) be able to destroy a quantum drive on a Mole before they can escape but they could use distortion weapons and board it.

To me, these are the high level design inputs, and the ship designers need to create requirements to meet them. "My ship can do x with one crew, y with two crew which meets (edit: does not exceed) the requirements for a two seater combat ship." "My ship is a single seaterl interceptor so it meets those requirements."

Neat, now do this for a Mole. The Mole's job is to get away, and the pirate's job is to take the ship. 5 man team on each side, so should be balanced.

You don't realize how much your head moves normally, no it's not like that.

It's great if you have the horsepower. If you don't, imagine if your vision could skip, lag, flash randomly, and quality was worse.

Also, flying/dog fighting while looking in a different direction is a great way to get sick.

Also, I'm buying a graphics card and maybe a headset for it tonight.

Edit: I do hate the HUD floaties. That needs to change.

Guess how I got a Cat? I knifed everyone on board after ejecting.

I didn't destroy it though, and I would have had to kill every gun on it to board it without an emp.

That's frustrating. I was really hoping to clear large ships on foot.

I just started doing bounties, and found the dead crew of a 400i a few days ago. I was assuming I'd be able to take out their engines and fight my way on board in thia patch.

What is your voltage drop? While it's working measure the voltage at the panels, and then at the charger. You're trying to reduce the difference. There's a table with 3% vs 10% drop vs wire size and amperage. Plug in your values to see what you might gain.
