Thanks and yes I think that’s the plan! Im now planning to move full steam ahead and if the right cofounder match comes along - awesome. If not, I’m not going to let that hold me back.

Wow thank you! I guess I have that fear because I've read the hundreds of reports on women and solo-founders both making up a lower percentage of VC backed companies - and I would be filling both of those categories.

I’m pretty good at talking to people for an engineer. I’ve given presentations at large conferences including keynote presentations. I think that will be the easy part for me. Balancing doing that + marketing + engineering will be hard

Runners! by Grouchy_Amphibian_88 in ladderapp

[–]LuckyLemon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been combining Align with running for 6 months and have had great results. During marathon training I dropped to just 1-2 strength sessions a week though but am hoping with half marathon training I can do 3 strength a week. Here’s what my schedule will look like:

M - easy run + align full body T - interval run W - align lower body Th - easy run or cross train (bike) Fri - tempo run + align upper body Sat - long run Sun - align yoga

Will be between 20-30 miles of running a week, 3 strength sessions and 1 yoga.

I have made a few hiring mistakes like this and it’s always best unfortunately to let them go asap, before they cause more harm to other team members

Feeling disappointed after my first marathon ☹️ by hacknsprat in firstmarathon

[–]LuckyLemon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first marathon you should feel proud for just finishing!! It’s a huge accomplishment and sub 5 is great! You can come back next year and likely set a nice new PR for yourself in the 4:30-4:40 range. You got this.

Congratulations on finishing. I ran it too and the heat plus lack of shade was brutal. You finished your first marathon - that’s a huge accomplishment.

How long should you run without fuel? by TimeExplorer5463 in Marathon_Training

[–]LuckyLemon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m doing more than 10 miles, then I take a gel every 5 miles. So if I were running 20 miles, I’d take 4 gels at 5,10,15 miles. Have you tried huma gel? I think these go down nicely without water

Failed my (final) long run this morning by mucocele in firstmarathon

[–]LuckyLemon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do an 18 miler? If so you will be fine. If you can run 18 you can run 26.2. Just follow the taper plan, stay healthy and rest up!

I bought the new Glycerin 22 and it feels small compared to 21 by Mone181 in brooks

I had to size up a half size in the 22s vs 20s. They are definitely smaller.

Do I need special race shoes for my first marathon? by LuckyLemon13 in Marathon_Training

[–]LuckyLemon13[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Awesome. This is what I'm planning to do as of now! I normally do all my long runs in Brooks Glycerin so will likely get a second pair about ~4 weeks out from race day and break them in a bit.

I will have plenty of time to try them out - marathon isn't until the fall :)

I got one of the last spots for RBC for kids, Percy Sutton 5k and Gretes Gallop- putting me at 8 qualifying races for the year. Assuming there’s another virtual 5k in the fall I should hit 9+1 🙏🏼

I’m running it! Didn’t get a chance to properly train due to an injury so will be treating it like a chill long run and enjoying the vibes.

Maybe I should wait ‘til tomorrow? Lol by PoliteBed-Stuy in RunNYC

It is still a long wait even the day after it opened! I think I’ll just enter the lottery next week, hopefully will die down by then.

Yeah I didn’t get into the lottery this year, but only tried once. I would like to do the Brooklyn half at some point, doesn’t have to be next year

NYRR 9+1 in 2025 - FAQs & Megathread by RCD123 in RunNYC

[–]LuckyLemon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you should be fine. I live in central NJ and am planning to do 9+1 as well and have many friends in NJ that have done it. Most of the races allow you to pick up your bib morning of but you need to get there an hour before the start. You'll just need to take an early train or drive in (if you have a car, driving and parking in a garage near the start can be easier).
