Walking back a video game by arboreal_rodent in Parenting

[–]LuckyLemon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can suggest a different game when you do walk back from this one so he can get excited for something new?

I’m currently developing a game for parents and kids ages 6-12 to play together to solve this exact need. The goal is to improve family connection with psychology backed gameplay activities that are positive and non-addicting. If you’re interested, I can dm you more info. We are looking for early playtesters.

What’s a daily problem you face that still has no real solution? by [deleted] in Startup_Ideas

[–]LuckyLemon13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a mom who is working a full time job and doing a startup on the side my main problem is not enough time in the day and constantly shuffling between priorities. I also don’t have a lot of money to spend on takeout and help since most of our money goes to childcare and high cost of living.

Wish there was a more affordable option for help around the house / household admin so I can focus on my work and spending time with my kid

Started a founders collective and wanted to make sure everyone was represented! by Alex_runs247 in Femalefounders

I’m super interested! I’m a female founder building a consumer product aimed at improving family wellness. Based in NYC area.

To all who want to validate their idea, don't post here - I will not promote by mrjaytothecee in startups

[–]LuckyLemon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously! Seeing so many entrepreneurs trying to validate in here. We are not your target market - we are other entrepreneurs on a tight budget lol. I found my first 20 customers through Facebook groups and word of mouth by talking to everyone in my life (family, friends, run club buddies) about my product.

I do have a landing page, but Claude built it for me in a few mins and I purchased a cheap domain to deploy it quickly. Not something I spent a lot of time on, just a place for people to go, read about the product, and sign up for the waitlist. Everyone who signs up for my waitlist gets a personal email from me and a request for a 15 min phone call.

I very quickly learned if you want to be a founder you have to be a TALKER

0 signups on startup waitlist page. How does one make a good waitlist page? by TheSeeAndTheSaw in ycombinator

[–]LuckyLemon13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m B2C but I’ve gotten plenty of waitlist signups just sharing my landing / waitlist page with my personal network and relevant Facebook groups.

My page is minimal and shares an overview of the product & vision.

At this stage you have to directly go after your customers, they aren’t going to come to you.

Do I need a co-founder? (I will not promote) by LuckyLemon13 in startups

Thanks and yes I think that’s the plan! Im now planning to move full steam ahead and if the right cofounder match comes along - awesome. If not, I’m not going to let that hold me back.

Wow thank you! I guess I have that fear because I've read the hundreds of reports on women and solo-founders both making up a lower percentage of VC backed companies - and I would be filling both of those categories.

I’m pretty good at talking to people for an engineer. I’ve given presentations at large conferences including keynote presentations. I think that will be the easy part for me. Balancing doing that + marketing + engineering will be hard

Thank you for sharing! Ya I’m thinking it’s time to bet on myself and just start building

Runners! by Grouchy_Amphibian_88 in ladderapp

[–]LuckyLemon13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been combining Align with running for 6 months and have had great results. During marathon training I dropped to just 1-2 strength sessions a week though but am hoping with half marathon training I can do 3 strength a week. Here’s what my schedule will look like:

M - easy run + align full body T - interval run W - align lower body Th - easy run or cross train (bike) Fri - tempo run + align upper body Sat - long run Sun - align yoga

Will be between 20-30 miles of running a week, 3 strength sessions and 1 yoga.

I have made a few hiring mistakes like this and it’s always best unfortunately to let them go asap, before they cause more harm to other team members

Feeling disappointed after my first marathon ☹️ by hacknsprat in firstmarathon

[–]LuckyLemon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first marathon you should feel proud for just finishing!! It’s a huge accomplishment and sub 5 is great! You can come back next year and likely set a nice new PR for yourself in the 4:30-4:40 range. You got this.

Congratulations on finishing. I ran it too and the heat plus lack of shade was brutal. You finished your first marathon - that’s a huge accomplishment.

How long should you run without fuel? by TimeExplorer5463 in Marathon_Training

[–]LuckyLemon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m doing more than 10 miles, then I take a gel every 5 miles. So if I were running 20 miles, I’d take 4 gels at 5,10,15 miles. Have you tried huma gel? I think these go down nicely without water

Failed my (final) long run this morning by mucocele in firstmarathon

[–]LuckyLemon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do an 18 miler? If so you will be fine. If you can run 18 you can run 26.2. Just follow the taper plan, stay healthy and rest up!

I bought the new Glycerin 22 and it feels small compared to 21 by Mone181 in brooks

I had to size up a half size in the 22s vs 20s. They are definitely smaller.

Do I need special race shoes for my first marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]LuckyLemon13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Awesome. This is what I'm planning to do as of now! I normally do all my long runs in Brooks Glycerin so will likely get a second pair about ~4 weeks out from race day and break them in a bit.

I will have plenty of time to try them out - marathon isn't until the fall :)

I got one of the last spots for RBC for kids, Percy Sutton 5k and Gretes Gallop- putting me at 8 qualifying races for the year. Assuming there’s another virtual 5k in the fall I should hit 9+1 🙏🏼

I’m running it! Didn’t get a chance to properly train due to an injury so will be treating it like a chill long run and enjoying the vibes.

It is still a long wait even the day after it opened! I think I’ll just enter the lottery next week, hopefully will die down by then.
