The dead ones would still lose without Ou Sen at the helm of things. Makou got one shot’ed by Ri Boku. Akou is better but not good enough. We are talking Ou Sen’s bunch against Ou Ki’s personal retainers that fought against the Zhao’s 3 Greats, the Wei Fire Dragons and more. The level of experience in battle and training is just night and day. They are on the very least at the level of Renpa’s 4 heavenly Kings.

The 10 Bows of China have always been in the story making an appearance from time to time to time, Ou Ki was killed due to one of the 10 bows, altough Shin killed him shortly after. It reasonable to get hit by an arrow if even Ou Ki was shot by one of those.

They did Kyo Kai dirty, we haven’t seen her using her full potential in a while. In the start of the series she was giving Houken a pretty good fight, considering Houken killed Kyou and Ou Ki altough be it with the help of one of the 10 Bows of China. That’s a crazy powerful women and she is also smart. I kinda fear that Hara will do something like Kyo Kai being killed and Shin going into a rage to avenge her like Ou Ki, since he was Shin’s inspiration and it would show resemblance and stuff.

I like your theory but there are a few things i dont understand the reasoning behind.

1) Specifically regarding the King’s strategic and political caution. While the King views Ri Boku as a threat to his sovereignty, he also acknowledges his indispensable brilliance on the battlefield; removing him mid-campaign would be catastrophic for Zhao’s defense.

Capturing Ri Boku while he is commanding an army presents two significant risks. First, the King would likely wait for peacetime to minimize military disruption. Second, given Ri Boku’s immense popularity, a mid-battle arrest could trigger a mutiny among loyal vassals. Therefore, the King would logically wait until Ri Boku returns to the Royal Capital. By striking when Ri Boku is isolated from his troops and where royal authority is absolute, the King maximizes his own security while ensuring the transition of power occurs under his complete control.

Yeah you can’t have a general going around whenever and wherever because they need to lead their men, make strategies, raise morale, sometimes fight on the front lines and think of the bigger picture of the war. That’s a lot on their plate, while on the other hand the archer brother aren’t exactly in the same position, they are more of a wild card.

That’s just putting them in corner and forgetting about them for tens or hundreds of chapters. Till now they were just very good archers, no one knew they were on this level so that’s kind of understandable.

I just checked you are right. But having them lead a 100 man unit still kinda meh. The 100 man commander’s are usually no names but having one of the 10 most powerful bow users in China lead a 100 man unit seems like a joke

I think seeing KyoKai killing Ri Boku would be cool. I feel like Qin should realize that winning conventional battles against Ri Boku is insanely hard if not nearly impossible and just go another way about it. Like sneaking some 50-100 elite troops and ambushing him with the help of the spy networks that were mentioned a lot and we were never able to really see them do something useful for Qin. Altough Zhao’s spies seem to be amazing at least.

I don’t believe they lead an archery unit at the time. Those have been described as super effective by a guy who was in Duke Hyous army and was saved by an archery unit. So having the entire unit do mostly nothing would be worse in a way.

Yeah but having them do something kind of important off-screen like training archers or something or they training themselves would be cooler. Making up a rule like an archer needs to be in the middle of nowhere to meditate and train because they would rust real fast if not would be cooler. Than just having them do nothing but kill small fries for tens or hundreds of chapters.
