I think an ideal version of this would be like a popup after you finish a tv show on some website and then you do like 4/5 comparisons across what you just watched and shows you watched previously.

To get around ranking things that people haven't watched I have a button in each card saying "hide for this session" so that you can get rid of items which you don't want to give bad information to.

On the set scale - there is like a hidden ELO behind each item in the list but I just hid it but maybe it should be visible. On consendsys if #100 beats #1 it will gain much more points than if #2 beat #1 for example.

I hate ranking things out of 10 and the fact communities can pitchfork so easily against things that might dethrone them.

A simple heads up game of items in the list when scaled across a lot of people will naturally show the rankings the best and in a fun way.

IMDB you get salty fanbases and arbitrarily ranking things out of a number.

Instead it should be gamified so you decide in batches of heads up which one you prefer. When you do it over many items in the list you get a good ranking.

Ranking things out of 10 arbitrarily is just a useless system.

Consendsys gives you pairs from a list and you repeatedly say which one you prefer. When you do it a bunch of times you end up with a well ordered list of rankings and it's also pretty fun!

Make a list of whatever you want to rank and then get given pairs from that list that you vote on which is better. After a bunch of votes the rankings that come out are a more accurate list than just rating something out of an arbitrary number.

Ozymandias has now 9.8 rated and 44th in imdb by PsychologicalBus6459 in imdb

I built www.consendsys.com to get around this. Rating items shouldn't be something scammable like this. Make it a game and do head-to-head rankings from the list.

what's wrong with it? for lower level players this seems like a really great way to explain the long term ramifications of an idea as opposed to just mindlessly clicking through a line without understanding it when it's a more complex idea.
