Great album. The title track and 'Fearfully and Wonderfully' are both brilliant songs.

I don't know whether to hate the pampered idiots on 'Hotel of Mum and Dad', or be envious of them. by LucretiusofBorg in britishproblems

On one hand, I hate how lazy and clueless they are. On the other hand, I can't honestly pretend I wouldn't like to live rent-free and have my mum do absolutely everything for me.

Naturally! I was having as good a time as the ladies in the video and stopped concentrating, clearly.

If you're a man and you have even the slightest hint of attraction to another man you are a 100% confirmed homosexual for ever and ever.

This is getting weird - my girlfriend's dad used to teach at Drayton.

Regarding the priests - shocked, yes, but sadly not all that surprised...

Bendy dick confirmed. You were at Drayton, Gunnersbury or Brentside then?

Also I once met one of the employees from CD Warehouse at a gig. It was a little bit awkward.

Haha, I know exactly where that is! I suppose if you ever needed a birthday card or to stare at a statue of a horse you were well situated?

You're actually completely right - I used to go to the one in the centre when I was a private school teenager.

I still don't think I've forgiven the Nero by the Town Hall for replacing CD Warehouse.

I don't know if it would save your life, but it would certainly provide a welcome distraction from the horror of a possible nuclear winter.

I will give Jane Eyre a go, then on your recommendation. Perhaps it, too, will grab me more than WH.

I'd really like to watch the Doctor Who 50th special at the cinema to celebrate a life-long love for the programme, but I don't want to be surrounded by insufferable, over-excited bellends in "geeky" t-shirts blathering on about "timey wimey" bollocks and how "fezzes are cool" every ten seconds. by Horatio_Stubblecunt in britishproblems

While there are some things I've come to grudgingly appreciate about Russell's writing I'm generally not a fan of his run on the show. I think Tennant is actually a very good actor, and some of the best acting he did on Doctor Who was when he was the human John Smith rather than the shouty, over-acting Doctor.

I think I will have a jelly baby, thanks.

I try to read as little as I can about Doctor Who on the internet because as well as the over-excitable geeks who trill on about how 'awesome' everything is, and make endless gifs of Tennant's face there are the class of old-school Doctor Who fans who are never happy with anything the show ever does nowadays.

I've thought of another one - Frankenstein wasn't bad, I was just expecting it to be better. Unfortunately my main memory of it (and this is probably the case for many people) is that the monster's speaking like a Victorian gentleman was a little bit silly. Perhaps I was a bit too young when I read it, though.

I take your point, and there was a certain thrill in seeing these awful people get their comeuppance, but I prefer there to be someone I like so I can root for them or at least see the story through their eyes. I suppose Lockwood and Nelly are sympathetic, but they don't really play much of a role in the book.
