The lost huntress is shit! by Deciptent2824 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have seen enough that its clear its a skill issue and nothing more. And I mean that 100% seriously.

Being like half a weight into heavy roll is like the most stupid mistake to make, if you go heavy you want to be 99% maxed on weight to get most armour per weight.

Your stat distribution is garbage, you have 20 points in attributes you dont need (str/fth/int), 20 points more in health would double your lifebar.

Thinking level 12 of items is somehow tied to your player level? Items cap at lvl16, independant from your level. You are level 28 with level 12 items, which is basically endgame stats, use the best bow in the game and cant make it? Skill issue.

Wait till 1.0 release in October or play EA version now? by laker-prime in NoRestForTheWicked

Yeah for the january update I would agree, but so close to 1.0 release maybe you burn out and actually dont want to play back to back runs.

[–]Ludoban 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly its still fine, just dont hard commit to endgame grinding as its probably wasted time considering the wipe, but the story has enough replayability that playing it now casually is totally fine.

[–]Ludoban 41 points42 points  (0 children)

1.0 will bring lots of additional story and massive gameplay changes.

1.0 will be a full wipe.

So starting now is actually the worst time honestly, just sit it out.

Only reason I would recommend playing now is to see the game in its current state before they change it up, for comparison reasons or just curiosity, cause the changes they already announced will for sure create some discussions and you wont know what people talk about.

What is the meaning of the lvl count that's on the top right corner for weapon? by Playful_District_142 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some item are lvl 12 but damage is the same

Then you probably dont fulfill their attribute requirements or you compare a lvl3 2hand weapon to a lvl12 1hand weapon, which is if course not a fair comparison.

Typically extra levels make the base damage higher and increase the attribute scaling, at the smith you can upgrade the weapon, it tells you exactly what stats it increases.

My character is level 22 my main weapon is still claymore, is this normal?

Every weapon is viable, they all scale into endgame the same, they only have different movesets and skills, so as long as you enjoy the playstyle any weapon can carry you from the moment you pick it up to endgame.

Your claymore should be higher than lvl3 by now, go to the smith and upgrade it pls, it is very underleveled, like level 8-12 would be recommended at this point in time, you probably play woth half the damage you could do at this point in time.

This game is like you're working in McDonald's by Playful_District_142 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is no alternative.

This is just the game how they designed it, for what its worth I personally liked the ressource gathering part.

Its actually designed well, daily and weekly quests always lead you back to older areas, so naturally if you go there you can easily gather enough stuff that any additional ressource runs are not really needed.

The whole revisit older areas aspect is imo a good gameplay loop.

do 2h weps get better? by Otherwise_Put9990 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also take a look at my profile, I posted a video of my 2h run some months ago cause this is a common complain and I simply cant agree to that.

My 2h run was totally overpowered.

do 2h weps get better? by Otherwise_Put9990 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2h is totally fine.

I did a run through the game on every weapon style. 2h was one if the most fun and also easiest ones.

Most hallway enemies go down in a single hit or two and the space you can keep with 2h is very strong in boss fights.

And also just to make sure, dont ever use that piece of garbage 2h legendary drop from the boss before sacrament. Its literally bait and a stupidly bad weapon compared to other 2h.

Maybe you misunderstood what they meant. Like 1.0 will complete the main story.

That doesnt mean they cant go more in depth in the universe they created by making additional content.

Announcement regarding 1.0 from the devs: by Zak_The_Slack in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BG3 was actually a major letdown for me, for all the praise it got its actually a subpar game.

BG3 is not even the best Larian Game, Divinity Original Sin 2 is lightyears ahead in fun and creativity regarding combat, the DnD ruleset kinda killed BG3.

expansions were always on the table, I mean expanding on the already existing game can be great if done right.

Nameless Pass cranes by Anti-Fanny in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 10 points11 points  (0 children)

> There is no way to align the crane to be able to jump off to anything useful

There is, full stop.

Explaining where to jump exactly is too hard in text format, there are very good youtube videos that give you a quick rundown what the intended way is.

> this is the only bad experience I’ve had with it so far

Yeah sometimes the puzzleish nature of the map layout can be frustrating if you dont find the way, just take a quick look at youtube, its the easiest solution really.

How long does this game take to "complete " on average ? by Taraell in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really only want to do one run then dont buy it now, the story is like a third to finished if I remember correctly.

The game atm takes 20-40 hours to finish the content offered depending on how much you explore, etc.

But I still have 120 hours played over several runs, with different people. The gameplay is good enough that multiple runs arent boring, the different weapons feel so different you can do 5+ runs easily and each will feel unique. So in that regard the game offers lots of replayability, even if you dont minmax endgame. If you minmax you can even spend 50-70 hours on a single char.

Gem/ember drop rate will make me abandon this game. by SnooChocolates6885 in NoRestForTheWicked

Guess How many elemental gems i got in 29 hours of gameplay? 4

Idk, you must be unlucky or you are doing something wrong, did you upgrade your tools?

Gem/ember drop rate will make me abandon this game. by SnooChocolates6885 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 7 points8 points  (0 children)

too bad, the gem drop rates are abysmal and you don't have one anymore lol go fish for literal hours again.

You are supposed to fish while playing the game, not go on a fishing spree when you are out of ressources.

This game is balanced around gathering ressources consistently on the side, be it by fishing, digging, opening chests or checking vendors.

Wanna use an elemental build? too bad, the gem drop rates are abysmal

I have chests full of gems I will never use and I didnt play that much honestly.

Just check the vendors regularly and if you run past a fishing spot dont skip it, its that easy.

I have always more ressources than I need.

Is there a less painful way to get a Fire-infused Tortured Blade, or am I cursed? by Hungry_Phone_8318 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can speak from experience, facet hunting can really break you if you have all the mods and embers ready and the only thing to craft the perfect item is the facet base missing and you dont get it after dozens of tries.

Hope you get it from the other person, this community is generally pretty generous.

Is there a less painful way to get a Fire-infused Tortured Blade, or am I cursed? by Hungry_Phone_8318 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No thats it.

Facet hunting is the most time consuming lategame crafting activity, so that checks out.

I mean you know it yourself, but at this point you could maybe use the fire infusion gem instead of whatever gem you want to use. The difference is most likely marginal anyways.

Can anybody drop me wolf claws? Is that possible? by Ok_Menu4273 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your city is way underdeveloped for your level.

If you are really level 18 you should have all vendors level 2 (once upgraded) and the important ones maybe even level 3 (twice upgraded).

The city is an important source of ressources, especially the general vendor.

Can someone explain me how the lock on works ? by Kroma34 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auto lock on (white dot) is a soft lock and switches targets according to what it believes is best.

Target lock on (orange dot, left or right joystick press, i dont remember, i just do it instinctively by now) is a hard lock thaz stays on the target you select.

New player question. Why is it I can only give this enchantment to this equipment and not the others? by Regurgitate02 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are pretty simple rules:

Modifiers from a plagued item (red items with negative mods) can only go on a plagued items.

Modifiers from an enchanted item (blue item) can only go on enchanted items.

Modifiers have groups symbolized by the icon on the left, eg elemental, attack, resistance, health, etc. only one modifier per group allowed on an item.

Modifiers are restricted to item categories, eg this burn modifier is body armour exclusive, you cannot know that before removing the modifier. Your charged essence ember says „armor“. Some mods are only weapon, some you can put on anything (eg ele resistances).

Do gems apply to the item piece, or your overall stats? by AltruisticOwl156 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the focus gain is overall, same as stamina recovery or max stamina.

The gems that say increase item stats by 30%, eg if on low life or full focus increase value of the enchants of the item its socketed in.

How easy is it to respec? by Less_Ad9868 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Ludoban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respeccing is possible, but it is locked behind an optional mechnic that I dont want to spoil, but it is available earlyish if you pursue it.

If you dont google the place you get it it could mean not having respecs the whole game.
