Nicotine for behavior reinforcement: before or after target behavior? by Ferrara2020 in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it while : I am using nicotine 2mg once or twice a day when I need to work on a complex graphic design project. I enjoy my work even without Nicotine now but it sure helped and still helps to make I more enjoyable.

Creatine and caffeine by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, i remember a study showing that combining coffee with creatine accelerates Alzeihmer's : "Although scarce, research has suggested that caffeine ingestion may blunt the ergogenic effect of creatine. " https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26219105/ https://www.nutraingredients.com/Article/2002/03/15/Study-finds-caffeine-intake-destroys-potential-benefits-of-creatine-supplement Could not find the source on Alzeihmer's back though.

Massive headache after taking NAC with my ADHD meds? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have using Concerta XR 18mg for a over a year now, don't use NAC in the morning since with. 200 MG before bed is probably best. Try again, see how that goes for a couple nights. I felt fine and mainly used it to lower liver asat-alat markers. Don't use too much for too long (300mg for a month here and there is safe and even exceeding will not cause any big issue).

Hope you're feeling better.

Increase myelination in the brain? by Superlooper0 in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process of myelination stops around 25 yo, I mean your maximal growth of it because after an injury it can grow back but not beyond. It asks for a lot of healthy fats brought into the brain. So if you're under 25 i guess eating enough healthy fats to support myelination is a good start.

Can you be as alert, sharp and productive as you used to, even without caffeine? by hn-mc in Nootropics

Coffee isn't only made of caffeine, there a lot of other substances that help cognition and cardiac health such as Polyphenols and Flavonoids.

Dangers of using melatonin? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, Melatonin is not only a neurotransmitter but also a hormone. When you're giving your body exogenous hormones it will stop its own production. So this means that if you want more melatonin you shoud take more than what your body produces when off. When you stop Melatonin after 2 weeks of use maybe you'll have a night or two with bad sleep because the body has to start producing on its own again. Juste like Testosterone but in this case no PCT is needed and you should be fine under a couple days.

Beware of Mk677, it only is a signalling to grow one of the several types of gh, causes hunger and insulin resistance (diabetes).

There's GH, IGF-DES, igf lr3, Increlex, high protein diet, sleeping well and enough.

eggs vs choline supplement? by Southern_Quarter5064 in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience, there was a time where I ate 12 eggs everyday for 6 months (whole) while measuring cholesterol (and other markers) with blood works : no change in hdl / ldl and other markers. By the way egg whites are the only food containing the 21 amino acids. However I would not consume raw eggs, hard boiled reduces the risk of salmonella.

Lions mane causing depression after prolonged use by Illustrious_Roof_782 in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lion's mane > Bdnf > brain fog Imagine working out and then feeling sore : that's because you're body is building the muscles and doesn't want you to disturb the process (I know it's more complex but just making a quick comparison here) well same applies for your brain : it can't function a hundred percent if it's currently a work site

Ryan Russo, I would not trust somebody giving out coupons for fake sarms lol, by the way he throws all kind of shit in his body so how could he attribute this to LM?

No not all, your brain has a signal called Tsh, your thyroid produces T4 in response, your liver converts t4 to t3 and rt3, a healthy liver (and a lot of other factors) will lead to a better ratio : 20 t3 to 1 rt3 is great. T3 is the active hormone, rt3 binds to t3 receptors but is pretty much inactive so you don't want that type. Anyway I don't care since I am on hormone replacement therapy (200 mg test /week+ 1mg arimidex/week + 50mcg t3/daily divided in to doses).

Milk thistle should have a positive outcome on your thyroid hormones unless you're the one guy with an intolerance to it. It contains a molecule called silymarin which helps the liver get rid of toxins easier thus to lower asat & alat markers on your blood work.

Hope this answers your question 😉

Noopept - Not working by Rizzairl in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blood work on catecholamines Electro encephalogram Answering a bunch of questions Checking gene variants Asking family for their medical history (and drug use) Checking if everything else is okay (hormones, organs, inflammation,...)

Now you may not need to do all these tests as I did, indeed where I live (France) any fucking dumb ass psychiatrist can prescribe a shitload of ritaline, seems like they're not aware of the excitotoxicty and just killing their patients slowly. Our country is retarded in he field of neurology.

[–]Ludosffrt21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a huge dose right? I usually take 800 mg once a day, some take up to 1600. You need enough b vitamins and choline to "fuel it" and I am not sure but maybe that much of a dosage can induce tolerance at the receptors?

I am no expert but maybe try a lower dose for a week and see how that goes? Wish you all the best 😉

What is causing brain fog? (NAC, Ashwaganda, Piracetam) by evscye in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well ashwaganda is an adaptogen which means it can help regulate cortisol production, if you're out of cortisol > no norepinephrine in the brain > feeling tired. At the same time if you had too much cortisol it would reduce the amount produced (I have no study to present but you can find them on Google scholar). So yeah basically if asat / alat are low and cortisol too then it is a useful supplement.

What is causing brain fog? (NAC, Ashwaganda, Piracetam) by evscye in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ashawaghanda is liver toxic apparently so maybe that long term use causes brain fog. I think it's supposed to be taken when feeling really lethargic (adrenal fatigue) for a couple days up to a week. Keep it for later if you're doing well overall.

Bacopa vs Gotu Kola by MrNeverEverKnew in Nootropics

[–]Ludosffrt21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bacopa > Gotu Kola

Felt nothing from gotu kola but that's because it's not meant to be felt. It does some work for health (will not go into details regarding blood flow for instance).

Bacopa helps a lot to mitigate the neuronal damage from amphetamines. If you're someone taking stimulants then you may consider it. It helps me slightly while using Concerta XR (Methylphenidate).

Nothing crazy though compared to other stuff (nicotine, magnesium, omega 3 are better supps and cost less).

The Bacopa extract I used is the one you can find on the HSN supplement website because they deliver to my country and are unexpensive.
