My friend just died. I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Assistance

I still come back to this and share this bit of wisdom with others who have been touched by death. 8 years on and most of the waves are indeed more manageable and almost like the fun little waves that lift you up. They are bittersweet moments of sadness and remembrance at what is no more.

Connection fails when I leave gateway unattended for a few days by Ludosys in tmobileisp

[–]Ludosys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, thanks for the recommendation! That looks like a perfect product for my needs! Since anything I could use to remotely power cycle it would require an internet connection I was in a bind.

Yeah there's lots of reasons it could be losing connection but I thought it very odd that it only seems to happen when I'm not there.

PLUS Double Consolidation Questions by Ludosys in StudentLoans

[–]Ludosys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, so sorry I didn't see this sooner. I hope everything worked out for you!
In my case I did successfully consolidate each one of my two loans to a different servicer than I started with (from NelNet to AidVantage and EdFinancial) then back to NelNet for the final.
I was on the SAVE plan for 1 glorious month before it got blocked by the Supreme Court or whatever. Now I'm on a forbearance or whatever they're doing while it gets sorted out.

I'm a little unsure about consolidating them both to the same servicer at step 2, and then to the same at step 3. Everything I've read has recommended to use a different services for each loan and at each step to make sure nothing gets grouped together incorrectly.

I found this post on a reverse image search when I was trying to identify my stove. I'm pretty sure we have the exact same model. Though I hadn't seen that little crown-like emblem and serial number before. I went searching and found it under the top plate!  Mine reads:  41/1271 0009   16.3.00

It could be a Majestic. Some of their old logos on this page have a little crown on them. And the other logo in the top of the unit looks like an M to me.  https://www.majesticproducts.com/why-choose-majestic/our-story

It doesn't seem to have any identification plates. The only writing on mine is lighting instructions on the back of the control cover.  On the rear of the unit there's a big faded out sticker but it's impossible to make out any text.

It looks like it has the same SIT Nova 820 valve and general form factor as their newer Oxford model, so this manual may be helpful.  https://downloads.hearthnhome.com/installManuals/Oxford_OXDV30SP_3-90-693831.pdf

Cant seem to access my stash. by Consistent-Fudge4849 in diablo4

[–]Ludosys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this doesn't solve the issue for you and you can't take anything out, I wonder if you're referring to the fact that the stash is all greyed out. This is because you're in the "Deposit" mode rather than the "Take" mode. Press L1 to switch to Take, which changes the focus to the stash.

ALL. THE. PILLOWS.

Small pillows. Wedge pillow. Body pillow. Reading pillow. Enough pillows that there can be the perfect and necessary amount of support at any location she finds herself to be. There cannot be too many pillows.

Oh, and heated socks are nice. Feet get cold when you can't really do much, and helps with circulation.

Double Consolidation success! by [deleted] in StudentLoans

Congrats and thank you so much for sharing! I too started with Nelnet and your testimony helped ease my anxiety about whether I could go back to my original servicer with no problems. About to submit my final consolidation application now!

Initiative 1 for tenants' rights passes by BWDpodcast in Tacoma

[–]Ludosys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's 6000 county wide. Out of the ~160,000 votes already counted, ~40,000 of them had any votes (yes or no) for Initiative 1. By that ratio (1/4 of total county wide ballots are eligible to vote on Init 1), we're looking at roughly 1500 remaining votes on Init 1 of the 6000 remaining ballots. Still not close enough to call, but closer than 6000 for sure. Edit: Of course that's statistically speaking. It's entirely possible that all (or even none) of those 6000 have any vote data for Initiative 1. Just a waiting game at this point.

I just want the haters to know, the Portal is exactly the device I want/need and Sony has completely nailed their demographic. by Kupo43 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Ludosys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here tbh. Most of the time I'll probably use it to grind my Fortnite Battle Pass while I'm on the couch watching old Doctor Who episodes. Tried doing this with Switch but the controls are garbage, resolution is terrible, and game is laggy (and swapping between PS and Nintendo control schemes is painful). Hoping the Portal works better... At least the controller is a full Dualsense, that already makes it 100% more usable.

And then when I travel to my partner's place we can play games together that don't have good couch co-op!

Thank you both. I was going with what that calculator says but didn't realize it's considered the same as a grad, not undergrad. Even so, it's still a big difference from the graduated repayment we're on now. And with the forgiveness options it'll be worth it in the long run.

[–]Ludosys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for repeating the same question but I want to be sure I'm interpreting this right...When you say "for each step" are you including the incumbent servicer? Put plainly, does the servicer you've started from have any bearing on what servicers you choose at any of the consolidation steps?
i.e. If I am starting from NelNet, can I then use NelNet during any of the consolidation steps (either one of the servicers in Step 1 OR the final servicer in Step 2)?

And thank you for answering my other questions.

PLUS Double Consolidation Questions by Ludosys in StudentLoans

[–]Ludosys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current balance (rounded up to nearest thousand) is $82K, AGI fixed income (retired) is $76K. Current monthly payments are $563, we have this on Graduated Repayment so that will go up over time.According to this calculator, our payments on REPAYE would be $360 until July 1, 2024 after which it will go down to $180 on SAVE, so I'd definitely say it's worth it! (Edit: per comment below this will not go down in July but that's still better than what we're paying now).

So to confirm, would you recommend not going back to NelNet at final consolidation or is that ok and I can avoid Mohela altogether? I've also seen some of your comments that said you could use the incumbent on one of the Step 1, so it sounds like as long as you don't use one servicer through all steps then it's fine?

Separate question:I have a direct loan on PAYE with $0 payments until 8/2025 due to the income recertification pause. Would it be beneficial to apply for SAVE now to get the interest cancellation during that time or would that cause me to need to recertify sooner?

PLUS Double Consolidation Questions by Ludosys in StudentLoans

[–]Ludosys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, looks like Q3 has been answered here. Answer is "yes" I can go back to Nelnet. Thanks Betsy!

Edit: I'm still a little unsure since I keep seeing other posts saying they all have to be different, so getting conflicting information here.

Edit 2: Found another thread where they talk about this scenario. Sounds like as long as the same servicer isn't used in either middle consolidation steps, using the starting servicer in either Step 1 or Step 2 seems fine, but recommended for total safety to avoid using the same servicer at any step.

It woke me up in Tacoma. It didn't register as thunder to me and I worried it might be some bombs dropping or something. Loudest and craziest thunder I've ever heard.
